Was it this thread that the discussion of moving Juwaan Taylor to the left side was had?
How much of a possibility would that be? I read somewhere that he had some snaps with Jax (and U of Florida) at LT. Wondering if this is something Andy/Heck would consider? Would allow a ton of flexibility.

Yeah I don't get it. He's a pretty fluid athlete but I'm not sure that means it's worth dicking him around trying to wedge him in at LT

Now it's just something I'm willing to keep an open mind on given that we appear to have a draft fairly deep with RT prospects but a little less so at LT. Guys with shorter arms or slower feet that may not be great on the left side but sure seem to have good tools for RT. Whereas Taylor has the length, feet and athleticism to play LT. As we often discuss at LT, there's just not a lot of guys that have the physical tools to play on an island out there. Taylor doesn't have the experience, but he does have the tools. And there's a solid chance that the guy we're looking into picking at 32 is lacking one or more of those 'left tackle' sort of tools. I'm just saying don't pass on a guy like Morgan because you think he's a RT long-term. Because I think you MIGHT have a solid transition candidate in Taylor who would allow us to take someone like Latham or Mims or Morgan and get strong year 1 contributions from them.

If we move Sneed for the rumored 3rd, I think we spend that 3rd moving up for Thomas Jr or an OT, have had a gut feeling about Guyton for awhile now.

Dominick Puni played LT at Kansas, short arms so they will likely move him inside. Looks like a solid jack of all trades.

I retract this. KCCROW set me straight in another thread - he probably will not be there in our range and I accept that. Thanks KCCROW

Jordan Morgan has 32 7/8 arms, so basically 33. That’s the line for me. Wouldn’t hold that against him.

We are lucky it is a deep draft at OT, he could fall to us. There are some developmental tackles who have upside, but I think this guy is at the bottom of the list of 1st rounders who you could plug and play. It scares me to death that we would even consider handing over the job to Morris.

I like resigning D. Smith and taking a development guy.

Isn't Morris the developmental guy?
Not that interested in a late 2nd onwards OT to be honest. I'd love a starter in the 1st. Otherwise, go BPA and roll with Smith or someone and hope Morris actually does develop to the point they have trust in building around him as the focal point. Especially being as cheap as he is. |

What if the front office sees Morris as the starter? Then we are drafting for a swing out PTW is the swing |
