Malaysia Airlines loses contact with plane carrying 239 people

Malaysia Airlines says it has lost contact with a plane with 239 aboard enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

The airline said in a statement early Saturday it was attempting to locate the Boeing 777 after it lost contact with Subang Air Traffic Control at 2:40 a.m. It was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6:30 a.m.

China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported the plane was lost in airspace controlled by Vietnam, and did not make contact with Chinese air traffic controllers.

The plane is carrying 227 passengers, including two infants, and 12 crew members. The airline said it is working with authorities to locate the plane.

Boeing said on its Twitter account it is monitoring the situation, and "our thoughts are with everyone on board."

Search Minimum Equipment List (M.E.L) for any commercial aircraft, it might really open your eyes as to what goes on. Regarding the toilets, you need so many operative ones for the amount of passengers and some need the front one serviceable at all times. One generator inop is no big deal, there is usually a "fix within so many flight hours provision"
That is the way it is approved by the feds and the acft manufacturer.

On #14, they're recommending tips for flight attendants? That seems weird. I've never heard of tipping a flight attendant. Of course, I don't order alcohol so I guess I'm never handing any money to a flight attendant.

14. Tipping could go a long way - My girlfriend is a flight attendant. NO ONE tips flight attendants. If you give your FA a fiver with your first drink you’ll probably drink for free the rest of the flight.

Inches might be a bit much, but I can assure you that the walls of the potable water tank on a nuclear submarine has grown too. perfectly natural.

Look at the lines that run into your house THEN they should tell us how shiny they should be!
