****Official 2017 Missouri Tigers Football Thread****
Bowl Projections updated:
https://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...ns-new-updated New college football bowl projections, updated throughout Championship Saturday Ninety-seven days after the 2017 season’s first FBS college football game, it all comes down to Championship Weekend’s Saturday. The whole bowl schedule will be filled in on Selection Sunday, with all the most important results depending on Saturday’s conference championships. All four College Football Playoff spots are still up for grabs, with the ACC Championship and SEC Championship serving as veritable quarterfinals. Oklahoma and Wisconsin are win-and-in, but if one (or both) of those teams loses, then we got HOLLERIN’. Below, projections for all 40 bowl games, based on everything we know about the postseason so far. These will be updated as possible throughout a busy Saturday. College Football Playoff Championship (Atlanta): Clemson vs. Auburn Sugar (New Orleans): No. 1 Clemson vs. No. 4 Wisconsin Rose (Pasadena, CA): No. 2 Auburn vs. No. 3 Oklahoma I’m picking all four higher seeds here, but not all four favorites. After a week of “Alabama or Ohio State at spot No. 4, once Wisconsin loses?” debates, I’m thinking the Badgers pull the Vegas upset. J.T. Barrett just had surgery and is still backed up by a (promising) freshman, Ohio State’s coaching staff had quite the lil distraction thanks to Tennessee, Wisconsin is much better than its 2014 version, and UW players have spent the entire week hearing themselves portrayed as maybe the most overlooked 12-0 Power 5 team ever. The rest of the New Year's Six: Peach (Atlanta): Georgia vs. UCF Orange (Miami): Miami vs. Alabama Fiesta (Glendale, AZ): USC vs. Ohio State Cotton (Arlington, TX): Washington vs. Penn State The Orange takes the top ACC non-champ and top non-champ from the Big Ten or SEC. (Notre Dame’s out of the picture.) This year, that second spot seems likely to be the No. 5 team. Updated: UCF beat Memphis and is assured a spot. Big change so far: TCU got stomped and drops out, with Washington moving up. Everything else: Citrus (Orlando): Michigan State vs. LSU Outback (Tampa): Michigan vs. South Carolina Liberty (Memphis): Iowa State vs. Memphis* TaxSlayer (Jacksonville): Virginia Tech vs. Texas A&M Arizona (Tucson): Utah State vs. New Mexico State Music City (Nashville): Iowa vs. Kentucky Sun (El Paso): Louisville vs. Arizona State Belk (Charlotte): Wake Forest vs. Mississippi State Alamo (San Antonio): TCU vs. Stanford Camping World (Orlando): Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma State Military (Annapolis, MD): Virginia vs. Navy Texas (Houston): Texas vs. Missouri Pinstripe (New York City): NC State vs. Purdue Independence (Shreveport, LA): Florida State vs. Kansas State* Cactus (Tempe): West Virginia vs. Utah* Heart of Dallas: Texas Tech vs. UCLA* Quick Lane (Detroit): Duke vs. CMU* Holiday (San Diego): Northwestern vs. Arizona Foster Farms (Santa Clara, CA): Fresno State* vs. Washington State Hawaii: Southern Miss* vs. Colorado State Dollar General (Mobile): Toledo vs. Appalachian State Armed Forces (Fort Worth): Army vs. UTSA Birmingham: Temple vs. Boston College* Potato (Boise): NIU vs. Wyoming Bahamas: UAB vs. Ohio Gasparilla (St. Pete, FL): Houston vs. FIU Frisco (TX): SMU vs. Marshall* Boca Raton: USF vs. FAU Camellia (Montgomery, AL): Akron vs. Arkansas State New Mexico (Albuquerque): North Texas vs. San Diego State Las Vegas: Boise State vs. Oregon Cure (Orlando): Buffalo* vs. Georgia State New Orleans: Troy vs. Louisiana Tech * = Filling another conference’s unfilled bid. The biggest thing to keep in mind: These are not based entirely on current or final standings. Each conference has its own bowl rules, but bowl games prefer matchups that will bring in fans and make money, not bowl games that reward teams that played well. Often, those two things are the same. Often, they’re not. As always, I apologize for overrating and/or underrating your team. What do you think?

This would be a good year to play Texas in Texas for Texas recruiting mojo, IMO.

I think Lock returns next season along with Heupel.
Most of the OL is back so I don't expect a drop off there. Crockett + Rountree is gunna be the best RB duo in the country. Albert O + a senior Kendall Blanton (who I hope they use more of next season) Johnson/Floyd, Hall/Brown at 2 of the WR spots...what about the other spot? Moore and Collins are gone. Does Brown start at Moore's spot? Or does someone else, maybe a freshman step up?

I love the idea of playing two TE and two WR as the base set. With Blanton and Albert O, you have a pair of TEs who can be slotted out or attached to the line/backfield seamlessly. That would let you go HUNH and switch between run alignment and passing alignment with ease. I think Harry Ballard has a good shot to start right away. He's a sick athlete coming out of JUcO and enrolling at the semester. If he does make it for spring ball, I think he'll force his way into the lineup.

I'd be shocked if he doesn't, based on the 18 QB class and what I'm told he has heard from scouts so far (go back, be a top 10 pick in 19 if he had the same type of year).

I think it'd be a great move by both programs. A strong opponent for both schools, history revived and a big **** you to the Texas 10.

Man, that ****ing game. What a garbage, fluky play and fluky national title.
It will be easy for me to hate Frost at Nebraska (from a pure emotional standpoint). Personally, don't see much to gain for Mizzou in that endeavor. Not crazy about giving Nebraska more exposure in Missouri, which I'm sure Frost will be trying to raid every year for at least a few guys. It would be a big game with a big guaranteed payout and more interesting than Purdue, etc. though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The biggest bullshit fluke play I've ever seen decide a game. It'd be like if a guy crushed a would-be walkoff in Tropicana Field only for it to hit part of the structure, bounce down, and get caught for an out.
