**Official MU Head Coach Search Thread**

Seems like this deserves its own thread. The news will start coming fast over the next week or two, IMO. Recruiting is a 365-day event and we can't afford to be rudderless for long.

My vote - Cuonzo Martin.

Discuss.

This is the kind of shit that only happens to Mizzou.

Better facilities, better donors, less competition for top recruits, fertile grounds, and they were offering a 70% increase in pay against a school that claims it was both tapped out, is harder to get into, is more remote, and that has almost no fan support.

And they lose. Does that happen to anyone else? No.
And to be fair, we were not only trying to lure a guy away from his alma mater, but a guy who has had success coaching the team he played for at said alma mater.

It's not Bernie's or Alden's fault if Painter changed his mind this afternoon.

Exactly. It is hard to imagine why anyone deals with this. How can there be any fans left when the department is run by such idiots?

Since football is 80% of college athletics Alden can skate by... But no other fan base would tolerate this. People need to get angry and expect better.

No matter what happens now, this is going to be hugely anti-climactic.

This is exceptionally damaging on so many levels.

I don't think you guys are dealing in reality with this particular criticism.
You're fooling yourself if you don't think MU officials weren't leaking every step of the process in an attempt to wedge a gap between Painter and Purdue.

Bullsh#t its not. You think he's the only one that had a source that said it had a good chance for going through? Of course not.

But he's the only one arrogant enough to start celebrating ahead of time. No one else ran with it except him, and he was the one that got Tiger fans hyped up and thinking it was done.

fuck HIM.

Dam, when you're right, you're right.
I can't think of any other major college program that's been screwed more publicly than Mizzou. Did somebody piss off a gypsy?

That'll be the public story anyway.

It's also probably going to be bullshit.
