In this thread: All things related to the AL Champions.

Duncan's Official Team Record prediction: 90 wins
Duncan's Official Team MVP prediction: Eric Hosmer

I can't wait for this season to start. The AL Central should be a very entertaining race. I'll give brief thoughts on each team the Royals must contend with to make it back to the postseason - strengths and weaknesses.

Detroit Tigers:
Strength: The offense is still full of powerful hitters, and Miguel Cabrera may be healthier.
Weakness: Rotation is questionable after Price and Sanchez, bullpen continues to be horrible.

Cleveland Indians:
Strength: Great manager and a deep, versatile lineup.
Weakness: The rotation is a question mark past Corey Kluber, and even he has a few questions about him.

Chicago White Sox:
Strength: 1-2-3 combo of Sale, Quintana and Samardzija is pretty formidable. Offense is anchored by Jose Abreu, too.
Weakness: Defense still has major questions, and this team has 20 games to improve by if it really wants to make the playoffs.

The Royals will be a division winner IF ...
1) Ventura and Duffy combine for 375+ innings of high-quality work
2) Eric Hosmer delivers on his potential with a FULL season of success rather than bursts
3) The deeper bullpen lessens the critical load on Herrera, Davis and Holland
4) Lorenzo Cain stays healthy
5) Either Alex Rios or Kendrys Morales bounces back to 2013 form

Herrera didnt hit anyone.....and i dont care if he pointed at his head or his d***....

The policing was taking place.....lawrie, intent or not, learned there was repercussions to sliding in spikes way up. And he took it like a pro.

Another message was sent by herrera later, after cain is plunked. Hell, maybe the message is "your pitcher needs to get his pitches under control"

Guess what.....bet the next time lawrie slides into second, he will be a little more cautious......just like how our hitters havent been able to dig in in the box quite as much as they would like to.

If the league is being pussified then why is it that only the Royals got punished?

Well I am under 30, almost 30 next month. But I know what you are talking about. Sorry I'm late to the game. Baseball cards were such a fun thing growing up. Guess I'll have to go through some of mine tonight and laugh at the cards I was in love with as a kid that have transpired to be worth peanuts.

At least 10. They've been in storage for 2 decades.

Bob Dole worked at QT and we bought enough of the clear packs to figure out the card sequence. We knew by the front and back cards whether there was a Ripken in the pack. Drove around KC and bought every one we could and made a killing at the card shop in Raytown.

I believe you can elect to appeal in person at the league offices the next time your team plays in New York. That would give him about a month. By then, Holland should be back. Hell, Hochevar could be back by then.

I don't know what's up with the Rangers getting HBP'ed at a higher clip, but you cannot say there isn't some sort of directive to go inside on Royals' batsmen moreso than there is with any other team.

Lawrie still doesn't shut the **** up. And really we have a star on our back because the way we play with energy and like to have fun and play hard. Sounds like Lawrie is being a hypocrite but I guess that's what you get when you team is a .500 team. Have fun on the As while you can watch the Royals at home in October.
