Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

I've had very good consistent groupings with my m&p 40 but they are slightly to the left. What could I be doing wrong?

I tend to do the same thing - good groups, only slightly down and to the left. You're probably moving your hand slightly when you pull the trigger. One thing that's helped me is using the tip of my finger to pull, but I still have to think about it. I've also found that if I press against the bottom of the pistol right in front of the trigger guard with my left index finger it helps balance things out a bit.

+ 1 on finger tips
Try shooting one handed. If you cant hold it still one handed. Then put your free hand behind the shooting wrist . If you ? take your free hand, & cup the palm that has the gun in it. You will get left roll if your right handed. & right roll if your left handed. It's caused by the muscle contracting in the palm, thats resting in the hand thats cupped. Many ways to hold handguns. Finding one that works & is comfortable for you is the trick. I shoot my revolvers 1 handed. & use 2 hands for my autos, second hand being behind my wrist of course. If your shooting BWANA type hand Howitzers. Just hold on to them when they go off. & your doing real good. Last edited by LiveSteam; 07-27-2011 at 02:08 PM.. |

If I know I'm going to the range, I'll do exercises where I extend and pull back my trigger finger while making sure I don't move any other part of my hand or wrist at all. It's harder than you think. |

Thanks for the tips. It must be my finger placement. I start out shooting with the tip but I must end up on the crease of my finger by the 2nd or 3rd shot.

The bad news - my best friend's dad died last week, so I have to go to Kirksville this weekend for the funeral.
The good news - as long as I'm going to be there..... Time to see what kind of damage I can do with the new XDM and the new trigger in the AR on the unsupervised range without having some dildo off-duty cop range guy telling me how fast I can shoot. I expect to run out of ammo fairly quickly. |
