Chiefs @Raiders: Game Notes from the Dark Side

* Raiders HC Allen announces this game will be used to "evaluate young talent."

* Raiders commentator George Atkinson announces "This will be an audition game" for backups and rookies.

* Raiders bring cornerback Chimdi Chekwa up from the practice squad to play against Chiefs.

* Raiders announce that OT rookie Tony Bergstrom will play guard vs Kansas City, a position he has never played before.

* Rookie defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi returned to work after missing practice Wednesday, but expects to get "evaluation time" against the Chiefs.

* Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain is back from suspension, but has been relegated to playing running back on the scout team. He will be allowed to play on Special Teams against the Chiefs. When asked about it by the media in the locker room, McClain replied, "I ain't got nothing to say about anything."

* Setback for Seymour: Starting defensive tackle Richard Seymour has missed five straight games with a hamstring injury, and his quest to play Sunday against Kansas City took a hit Thursday during practice. "Well, he had a little bit of a setback today as far as the hamstring is concerned," Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. "We'll evaluate him as we finish out the week, but it kind of grabbed him a little bit, so we'll see."

* Raiders safety Michael Huff will start at cornerback.

* Raiders leading tackler, starting strong safety Tyvon Branch, missed his third straight day of practice with ankle and neck injuries.

* Coach Allen said of QB Terrell Pryor: "The biggest thing is to start getting him into the game a little bit and let him see a little game action. I’m not ready to say that he’d be a starter."

* The Oakland Raiders defense ranks dead last in the NFL in Points Allowed.

* The Oakland Raiders have the draft tiebreaker over the Kansas City Chiefs due to Strength of Schedule

* The Chiefs have won eight of their past nine games at Oakland.

Spread: Chiefs -1

After opening as a pick 'em in most sportsbooks, bettors have backed Quinn and made the Chiefs favorites coming into Sunday's contest.

But seriously, how many undies did you fudge when the announcers said "Carson Palmer is our QB of the future?"

What? I thought the announcer said "Carson Palmer is the Raider QB of future games this season unless they want to take a look at Pryor."

The Chiefs knew beating us would've tied them with us while letting the Raiders win clinches one of the top 2 picks for them and pushes us into the dogpile. A league investigation is in order.
Quote:
Just **** the Chiefs. I hope they get Geno with that ill-gotten 1st overall pick and then I hope he busts out worse than JR.
Quote:
NFL should not reward Chiefs with 1st overall pick. Get that lottery going before this draft.
Quote:
The Chiefs are the #5 rushing offense in the league and so far they've rushed the ball 9 times for 10 yards? If that's not indirect evidence of throwing a game, I don't know what is.

I can't believe you still think Chiefs are trying to win and we are winning a "fair" game. They won't win another game this season and they don't want to. Book it.
Quote:
I think the NFL should institute a random draft position draw for every team not in the chase for playoffs spots. It would put an end to games like this where two teams look like they are trying to be the most inept.
Quote:
No. The refs know penalties isn't the worst they can do to us, so they are conspiring to prevent us from getting the 1st overall pick.

I know for a fact that the Chiefs did not throw this game. That charge is completely unfair to the storied Chiefs organization.... a despicable act by ignorant fans. I know this cuz I looked it up on Wikipedia:

"Games that are deliberately lost are sometimes called thrown games. When a team intentionally loses a game, or does not score as high as it can, to obtain a perceived future competitive advantage (for instance, earning a high draft pick) rather than gamblers being involved, the team is often said to have tanked the game instead of having thrown it."
