If you get angry because the phone rings or the weatherman pops on, then ... well, IMHO that's just not healthy. These are TV shows, nothing more. You see, I have a sister who spends 90% of her time parked on the couch in front of the TV, 5% working and 5% sleeping. You could come up to her with $100 billion and she'd just say "That's nice" and continue to watch her show. From what you've posted on this thread, you seem like a person who'd get pissed for someone doing that. But hey, that's just my impression ... MM ~~

Yes, I do and did get angy at the weatherman popping in for an hour. I don't like Mike Thompson or Joe Loria, I don't want to listen to them when they are on the news and really don't want to listen to them when I am watching another tv show. I don't mind if it is information I need, but I clearly did not need their input last night. Maybe others did though, so I don't mind if it is for 5 minutes or if it is scrolling on the bottom telling where it is and where it is headed. I personally didn't see last night as any different from 100 other storms we get. Maybe it was worse, that is fine, I just don't want to hear about it for an hour. I turned it around and most stations did cut in briefly. I am fine with that in an emergency. But I don't want him to cut in to tell about a storm that is far away, or to just drag it on for an hour when everything could be summed up in 5 minutes.

Mark I see your point, I just don't agree with it. Do you see any at all of my point? Maybe just a little bit?

There is not a single TV show that I "have" to watch or care that much about. MM ~~

I think everyone's missing the worst part of these types of storm situations...
You tape a show on the night of a storm and finally sit down to watch it a week later or so. You've completely forgotten about the fact that there was a storm. You get the popcorn popped, you fast forward through the opening part that's always the same, and then the weather dude comes on. What are you supposed to do then? You can't call the station to tell them to stop it. The people who were in danger are safe now, a week after the fact. There is no point to interrupting my taped show! That, my friends, is the real tragedy. Tape delayed weathermen save no one... Talis ~tongue so far in cheek it hurts a little |
