Heartbreaking and very upsetting story

To anyone that is a parent this would be very devasting Im a very proud father of my kids and when I read this story and saw the boys picture my heart broke Especially considering the guy that killed him had 16 prior arrests

Keep his family in your prayers

Only reason I was pulled over was because I drive fast and would leave the bar after my shift at 3 in the morning. And cops will tell you only bad people are on the road at that time. :P

BUT THE POINT is, I was so scared of having to spend a weekend in the tents, all the many times I was just too tore up to drive, someone else did.

More tents and chain gangs!

Agreed, I think escalating penalties for a repeating offense would have worked well in this situation.

I can understand if you were to step out of this specific example that people that have revoked licenses still have lives to live, but driving a car is not like breathing air, there are options to living your life without driving, difficult as they may be in this day in age, but living with those difficulties is suppose to be part of the penalty. If the penalty gets worse each time, and get to a point that jail time is involved when someone drives without a license and is caught 5x, 10x, 15x, whatever, then maybe even without a psycic we will get lucky and some 12 year old out there will get to see 13 just because we stopped letting a person treat a suspended license like it was something he could just pay (through fines) his way around.

This.

Everyone knows someone who has had their license taken away. Most of them do the right thing, which is walk, get a ride, or pay for taxi's.

They certainly don't get high on PCP and hop into their car for the 4th time (that is known) in a year.

Damn straight. fear of prison makes 'normal' people atleast maybe think twice.
Fear of pickin trash and grading roads w/ hand implements in the middle of a missouri jan. while living in spartan conditions would make even a fool think twice.

Ya know, i kinda liked his idea about chopping off his dick, hands and feet. Then we wouldn't have to worry about him driving or reproducing.

LOL it does sound tempting........

There is a saying that goes something like this:

"You can judge a society by how that society treats it's prisoners and criminals."

How will history judge the US? Did we treat convicted criminals better then their victims?

I don't believe it yet, but we are moving closer and closer.....

So if all the dude did was drive illegally 16 times, what are we supposed to do with that? Say "Oh, Mr. Illegal Driver, we know that you're about to kill a kid next week, so we're going to lock you up for a few days."

It's so easy for you to sit back behind your little computer screen and say that he should be "dispatched". What a cute little euphemism. Will you be the one to flip the switch?

And what about you? Ever driven after having a beer? Maybe two? What if you crashed in to a car and killed someone? Should you be dispatched as well?
Seriously you need help
Youre not a parent are you
Try telling this to the mother
I sat back and read all your posts not once did you grieve for this family. you much rather dwell on a child murrder trying to get a fair deal

This idiot has had a history of repeated incidents There should be no excuse why that should happen Dont you think with this guy it happened 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 etc times dont you think he has the capability to do it afain/

You brought up child molestors Dont even go there You give the impression that they actually recover Dude thats bullshit

Do you not have any self respect?
