I get the somewhat lawyer-ing up of your post with the Flowers/1wr info. It's clear that SS was a monster pickup and his play has been rock solid thus far and I highly suspect this will continue throughout the season. Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed Sean Smith 21st/90 +2.0 overall; 41.2 % completion percentage against his coverage; 30.8 opposing QBR into his coverage; 1 INT; 1 pass defensed |

Dude, I told you everything.
Sean Smith had a couple of good games against scrubs and was crappy against Dallas. I expect more games like Dallas.

The flip side is people who dismiss the numbers entirely. I'm not a fan of PFF's grading system because many times it's clearly flawed and that is often most true with defensive and offensive linemen. It's better at other positions, but in the trenches I dismiss the grades. What I like is the various unofficial stats that give insight into performance: DB stats like QB rating against, completion percentage against, WR stats with attempts and catches, OL stats like sacks/hurries allowed... I think these are awesome and give an insight standard statistics do not give. The grading system is fishy though because grading systems are always going to be subjective. Always. |

Is it possible at this point that you were completely wrong about SS and your projections about his performance with the Chiefs this season? |

It's a Bartee-esque play. He has no clue how to play the ball, never turns his head, etc.

I'm really not a big fan of Smith, but that shit happens. It's common for DB's to play a WR's eyes rather than the ball in man coverage. Even if he played the ball, the pass location would have made it equally as hard to defend.

This one will be fun this season, however I am pretty much convinced at this point you might have been right about Mcdickhead all along. My only confusion with him still is why every single coach seems to think he has this mass potential and are always trying to get him the ball. He must give the best hummers in history. Don't sweat SS, I can already tell you're beginning to accept your fate on that one (in pissy fashion of course). That gifed pass completion was virtually indefensible unless the speed is skewing it, a rather ridiculous example to try and exploit and I'm sure you're well aware of this. Geno will also prove you dead wrong in his career, all you have to do is watch his combine interview to see what a loser he'll end up being. It is so obvious he is trying to hide his true persona and fake everything for the cameras. |
