He is terrible because he wanted to see, witness and make informed decisions? Can you not see his side as well? By successful, is that from your view or from a business point of view? |

You are mistaken if you think Clark woke up one day and found out he was running the Chiefs. His attendance at NFL meetings before Lamar died is well chronicled. That leads me to believe he was being groomed as the heir to the throne for some time. My hope was that Clark would want to be the maverick that Lamar was with his Dads fortune and do great things. By keeping Carl on board until the stadium (cash cow) gets upgraded doesn't lead me to believe he is going to change the status quo. You bring up success from a business perspective. That is my main beef with the Hunts. The only reason Carl would be so proud of his negotiating skills rather than SB rings is because of compensation. GM's salaries are not reported so I have no evidence for my theory. However, I believe CP is compensated based on the profit margin for the team. Not wins and losses. If I am wrong and he is compensated based on win loss record...whatever. After the 5... 20 year plan can we not shift the blame to the people that ultimately run the show? The same people that put Jack Steadman in the Ring Of Fame? What leads you to believe that things will change? Why are we always at the bottom of the salary cap list? Why did we split PH and TG signing bonuses over 2 years? BTW, the Niners owner was in class at Notre Dame a few years ago and he is running the show now. The Bengals owner is also pretty bad. Don't know about the Rams. This is the crowd we are hanging with now. Last edited by Mojo Rising; 08-03-2008 at 04:07 AM.. |

I agree on some points but it would be hard for me to take over my family business in the first year and say screw what my dad did, right or wrong.
I would want to get my feet wet, experience the situation for myself before I take the "bull by the horns" and do what I think needs done based on my guts or beliefs. I would have to respect the person that made my situation even possible. I am a fan and am "flustered" as well but the NFL is a business first, like it or not. This is why I will wait and see and not judge Clark in the first year. |

Your notion of getting your feet wet is what Clark is doing and why this will fail. Name a NFL owner who has won a SB who wants to wade and cautiously to get to know what will happen. Lamar fought to get into the NFL and we he didn't he started his own league. When asked how long he could survive while losing a million dollars a year (that was a lot back then) he said 50 referring to his dads fortune. Does that sound like wading in? JJ canned Landry who was an icon. Kraft threatened to move the team from Foxborough to get the stadium that funded his dynasty. Debartolo spent a fortune on every luxury before the salary cap to lure the top talent. CP is not a popular person around here. At what point does the blame shift to the person who keeps him on board? We joke about Denver cheating the cap and losing a pick several years ago. I would like my owner to get fined for paying too much for talent. For the past several years they have been the KC Cheaps. |

I still see this as a fan point of view and not considering any other views or facts.
Maybe it is just me. |

I remember going to games in the 70's and seeing the Steadman Must Go t-shirts. He is now in the ring of fame.
If we are going to rebuild around Croyle we will only know if he can succeed if he has time to throw the ball and more than Bowe and TG to throw to. Good thing we didn't risk all the money on keeping Allen. We could have been burdened with his cap hit if he had another DUI (not really because Minnesota had him agree to a behavior clause) and not been able to go get other free agents. Wait. Under the cap. Chicago $13.2 million Jacksonville $13.7 million San Diego $14.0 million Philadelphia $18.4 million Buffalo $19.9 million Miami $20.9 million New Orleans $24.2 million Tampa Bay $26.2 million Green Bay $32.1 million Kansas City $36.6 million Are you kidding me? We are supposed to be happy that they raised ticket prices for the long time ticket holders in the lower section so that the upper bowl prices can be reduced so they can avoid blackouts? This isn't new. We have been at the bottom for years. |

It doesnt matter.... Both Albert and Dorsey's injuries are not severe, just sprains. With or without both of them this team is still going to suck.

Rumor was he refused to sign a behavior clause with us.
Too bad we did not keep him because now we are not going to the Superbowl without him. Business bottom lines come first. Like you stated, we have been at the bottom for years but they have lost how much money in that time span? There are 3 sides to every story and from the business side (not fan) quote what is broke based on their view? I am a fan and flustured as well but I understand there is more than the fan POV. |

Are you a Hunt accountant? Why are justifying their focus on profits over SB wins? What do you see different in the new ownership? A smart answer to your question is that it is broke. They are facing blackouts. In order to avoid them they lowered the price on the cheapest seats that they need to sell get a sell out. To offset this they raised prices for the people who have a vested interest and won't walk away from their tickets. They are raising them on the people who suffered through Steadman (BTW, Peterson is much better than Steadman.) If they focus on winning then they don't need to monkey around with all these ticket gimmicks. The Pack are willing to give Favre $20mil to stay away so they can develop Rodgers. We have the money to see if Croyle is the answer and did not sign any recieving or line help to see if he is good. With the current team Croyle will not succeed. We will be looking QB with our top 5 pick next April. He might sprain an anke next August. But you want us to be happy because the Hunt family made a hefty profit. If ticket prices are $70 for the lower bowl, are they going to send a refund for the percentage that they are under the cap? |
