It's Raider Week

There are only two weeks out of the year where I miss Marty Schottenheimer, and those are the two weeks we play the Raiders.

Forget Sucking for Luck and all the turbulence that's characterized the season so far.

It's time to sack up, go into that crap hole, and pull their ankle bracelets through their collective throats. It's time to atone for last year's embarrassment at Arrowhead and the one that got away in their crib.

It's time to invoke the ghosts of Andre Rison on MNF, Marcus Allen, Larry Johnson plunging in with no time left, and Todd Marijuanavich.

Raiders fans are walking around like they're going to beat the piss out of us on Sunday. BS. Let's do this!

He is a great kicker, but I wouldn't give up a first rounder if it meant I would get the leagues best kicker AND punter.

You can get really good kickers in the 5th round.
At the time we got Jano, we had Chucky and had just beat the Chiefs to knock them out of the playoffs 99 I think... and if I recall the Raiders had lost a few games by 3 points or less... and that was the story.

We had Joe Nedney at the time and he was one of the best in the NFL then, but he was demanding big money and thats when they got Seabass

Good for you Hemi, it's refreshing to see someone actually like a player on another team...

I would like to have Dwayne Bowe on the Raiders
No doubt he can kick the crap out of the ball. My daughter was going to FSU the same time he was, so I followed him a lot. I still think he justified the pick, contrary to what the draftabulators say.

McFadden is living up to his hype now, as it was pretty strong coming out of Arkansas. He really worries me, and hopefully the defense can hold him in check. Tyson Jackson, it is time to step up dammit!

IMO Bowe is Haley's best work, he is a beast.

haha

So, your kicker was demanding big money so you guys decided not to sign him and to spend a first rounder on a kicker instead.

Makes sense, in a raider kind of way.

It will be a great game, on paper we should win but you can take a match to that shit because this is the best rivalry in football hands down.

Rich Gannon not the kicker.

To think otherwise is beyond silly.

Yeah, the stupid ****ers could have had Sylvester Morris that year.

I really was hoping the kicker would fall to the Chiefs, but no. That is when the Chiefs were trying to find a kicker.

That stupid kicker pick was one of their better first round picks in the last dozen years.

I am going to go shower now, after defending a Raider move.

but didnt you just try and qualify taking a kicker in the first round with the teams record?

If you think your records in those years had more to do with the kicker than the league MVP quarterback you got because we were ran by a bafoon, I dont know what to tell you.

I remember that season well. We lost 8 games by a total of 34 points. Cole Ford missed a game winner in Denver from inside 30 yards, two against Tennessee in a 3 point loss. He also missed four against the Jets in a 6 point loss.

With just an average kicker the Raiders would have won that division going away.

The numbers don't lie. Since Janokowski has been drafted he's been the most consistent and productive player on the team. He's scored over 1200 points. And maybe someone can point out a player from that draft that we should have taken that would have played at a Pro Bowl level in any position and would still be playing today.

Good luck with that. I won't hold my breath.

it was a bad pick by oakland, period. Arguably, the best player on your team is Lechler, check out his probowls.

seabass, not so much.

you can argue about it all you want but there's simply no excuse for taking a kicker in the first round. None. That move was all crazy al. Too bad he's dead because he was batschit crazy.
