Well, for some dudes, 6 inches up a vagina is deep. For Alex Smith, 20 yards is deep.

I'll take a WR that can get open within 15 yards and then make the play after the catch consistently than a deep ball threat. Because people on this board severely overestimate the number of times deep balls are thrown in the league.

And yes, I know Smith HAS to throw more deep balls just to keep the defense honest.
Ok, you could have (insert any WR in the NFL future past or present) and he still wont have 1000 yards on this team. Alex Smith does NOT take chances. Every WR in this league that is good, recieves passes when he's covered.

After 45 ****ing years of no Superbowl Appereances, and after 22 years of no play off wins, people still think its the WR's and the Oline all the time.

Newsflash and this is the last time ill post in this, because im starting to feel like a dog chasing its own tail...... ITS THE ****ING QUARTERBACK!

Who's pining for "deep" in those stills? There IS NO "deep" in those shots, only guys open at 10 to 15 yards. WELL OPEN.

Sure. And if you're complaining that your #1 needs the ball force fed to him because he can't get open consistently, what does that tell you? I mean, we're talking about about a #1 $50,000,000 WR and we're complaining that he should get the ball more when he's covered. What the ****?

What other #1 WR are you saying that for?

Bowe isn't a #1 receiver. If a QB needs to force the ball to you cause you're always covered, then you shouldn't be a teams best WR. And yet that's the situation we find ourselves in.

I just think that at this point, expecting Bowe to have 1100+ yard seasons like he did in 2010 and 2011 isn't that realistic. Unless you have Manning or something, he's not a WR that can be trusted to consistently get open enough to get those numbers. Put it like this, if I said we'd have a WR get 100 yards and a touchdown next week, who would you think that WR would be? Me, I'd bet all my money on Wilson over Bowe. That's how much Bowe has declined in my eyes.
I'm tired of hearing about "Alex Smith" open, tell me instead about 90% of any NFL starting QB open... I agree that yes, Bowe still has most of the same problems he did 5-7 years ago, he maybe hasnt grown all that much.

But Smiths aversion isnt just with Bowe, it extends to every receiver, he's only recently latched onto Wilson because yeah, he gets that half second of separation I used to bitch about and point to in defense of Smith... but then I realized that, wait a second, EVERY QB wants that but most are willing to throw it to a trusty vet in clutch situations anyway.

Not an overrated Crabtree turd, but an honest to goodness playmaking veteran.

Its been a fairly recent total conversion... but you're assigning blame where it doesnt belong atleast 80% of the time. One redzone throw to your #1 receiver in 15 games, let the terrible stench of that one sink in for a minute...

Are you really this football dumb? Getting means beating the QB by a step, not by 15 yards. there are plenty of stils and gif's that show our WR's open like that and yet, Alex tucks the ball and runs. Sometimes, yes, the QB is going to have to forcefeed a WR. People do it ALL the freaking time to us. WE do it to other teams NEVER.

Like i said, PUt any WR in the history of the NFL and He will NOT have !000 yards for Alex Smith lead team. There is no Good WR in this league that will sign on to play with Alex Smith. he will instantly have the worst season of his career numbers wise. Playing WR for an Alex Smith led lead team is career suicide.

Remember when discussions were had if Bowe was a top 10 WR overall? Now he's not even a top 10 #1 receiver. Here are 20 I can name better than him. And theres 5-10 #2 WRs better than him also. There's no question he's fallen off. 800-900 yards is appropriate for him. I can bitch about Alex Smith too, but Bowe is what he is. He's not much better than what he's produced this year.

Are YOU this football dumb? Once again, what other #1 WR in the league gets open less constantly than Bowe? Other WRs find a way to be "Alex Smith open" all the time. They find a way to get the ball and make plays with it all the time. Bowe used to do that. He can't anymore. When he gets the ball he's tackled right there the vast majority of the time. If you're complaining that your #1 receiver isn't getting force fed when he's covered enough, then that's a problem with the WR.
