It took a perfect storm for us to lose by one point to the team with the second best record in the AFC last night. SB teams lose games (almost) every year. We have been hanging around 18% chance to win the SB all year. It will in all likelihood end in disappointment. This was always true.

Bottomline is we weren't as good as some of you thought before this game and we are better than some of you think afterwards. In either case, expect to walk away from this season without a SB victory. Play the long game.

There are videos on social media showing fans reactions to Mahomes plays for crissakes.

As we saw in the Hunt case, social media can work both ways. Something goes viral for a bad reason, your toast. For good, you make a fortune to be associated with that viral thing. There are people making $100 million a year just making videos about gaming. There is a 7 year old in Japan who evaluates toys on you tube making $7 million a year.
Yeah, but we're not L.A., we didn't recently move to L.A./a big market, and we manage our forrestation better. So while we have Pat, they have L.A.'s market size (#2 in the nation), the recent move to L.A. (that the NFL is determined to make profitable), and fires. So "3" is bigger than "1" in that game.

I don't think they're doing this so mahomes doesn't get hit. They're telling him not to make mistakes with a lead in hand. Even before Baltimore we've done this very often. Isn't it interesting that one of the only downfield shots we took late (tyreek doinked a pass off his helmet) was on a free play. He wasn't afraid to take a shot there.

I mean, we've been nails all season long playing from behind in the 4q. We've been wildly inconsistent with a lead. Mahomes look similarly rattled late against AZ, Sf, and Denver. I think we're asking him to play so far off his game.

Yep. Playing "Not to lose" is far different than, "Playing to win." Reid needs to play his best hand all the time and win it with offense. NEVER let the DeTards have a say.

The other night, on the last KC drive, the LAST thing the Chargers would have expected was a "Deep to Reek" pass. I'd have done it first thing - or better yet a Flea Flicker in that situation would have been BALLS OUT! Chargers sell out to stop the RB, he pitches back to Mahomes who hits a WIDE OPEN TYREEK! GAME OVER!

And if you fail, you still have at least 2 more downs, but the Bolts would be totally off balance, because they wouldn't know WTF you were going to do next. Maybe run out of a passing formation and maybe you hit a big run. Who knows? And THAT'S the point.

Totally agree. Or some kind of playaction. They knew we'd run it. Coverage shows they clearly wanted us to check it underneath. We did exactly what they wanted us to do.

Nobody gives a shit about Phyllis being front and center for a SB. He doesn't sell tickets and Chargers fans don't exist. Mahomes is the sexier matchup v. anyone 100/100 times, so there's no narrative there. I don't know how much more respect a guy can earn in his first year starting than what Pat has, considering I've listened to about 6,000 pundits blow him and another 6,000 wrote articles about his eating habits.

I can't disagree with any of this, Mr. TEX. And I don't. A deep shot to Tyreek would have been a great 1st down call, IMHO.

Problem is ... our o-line couldn't block a thought. That's a pass that takes a little time (Tyreek was hobbled) and the o-line wasn't giving Mahomes any. Plus, the bolts were doing a good job of pocket contain (which nearly eliminated the improv scramble).

The more I think about it, i'm absolutely convinced Mahomes should have rolled back into the endzone on the final series and upon not seeing anyone open just hand the ball to a Charger. Get the Kickoff and start the drive over to get a Fg in the final seconds.

If you ever needed a textbook block in the back for the purpose of educating referees, you'd show them what Ward did.

Yep. Pretty blatant. Happened right in front of the ref too, and aided the return.
