HBO greenlights A Game of Thrones pilot! (spoilers)

Huge, Huge News

HBO has given the production order.

They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.

It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.

It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.

More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn.

Ratings down a bit this week. Not sure if it's reaction to the horse killing/gay scene from the week before, or all the hbogo pushing hitting the rating, or other crap of TV. In any event, still not bad, though, 2.4 million premiere, 3.2 million for the night (@100k less than last week).

Yeah, I think I said it somewhere way back in this thread that the guy they had read Feast totally just screwed up my audio equilibrium with the series. I wish I had read Feast instead of listened to it. Add to the fact that the guy narrating sounded like George Takei, an dthat equals a dissapointing listen to a great series. I'll look forward to hearing Dotrice's narration again.

I don't believe this show is gauged by the Neilsen system, but I could be wrong about that.
