Chiefs fans are somewhat justifiably bad at evaluating their own OL for 2 reasons.

1. We finally have our guy at QB. Every time he’s hit, it feels like 10 hits. We have to remember every QB is getting sacked 25+ times in a year with 25 more hits.

2. We saw an unrealistic OL in the early 2000’s. That just isn’t happening again without an irresponsible level of investment along the line.

My theory is that the alignment/false start bullshit penalties with Taylor facilitated some of the holding calls too.

If the ref is already watching him specifically pre-snap, they’re more likely to see any small hold or hands to the face. Stuff goes uncalled all the time, but they’re already watching this player specifically.

It was mostly Wanya getting completely outmatched. He just wasn't ready.

But getting completely pantsed, on Christmas, at home, by your historically most hated rival? I think that requires a mental reset by everyone. I think even Veach said he had to look at how he and the front office does things differently after that loss. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and accept that something has to change if we're to have ANY chance in January.

Theres probably some fluff in there by me, but clearly something changed.

This dude has grown on me as the season went on. I think early on the calls got in his head and messed with his confidence.

He's been absolutely flawless in the playoffs. Like pro bowl level RT shit.

I hope he really has a monster game against bitch boy Bosa.
