Solved realignment:

ACC Atlantic: Boston College, FSU, NCSU, Pitt
ACC Coastal: Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, WVU
ACC Central: Clemson, GTech, U of L, Miami (FL)
ACC West: Baylor, OU, OSU, Texas

B1G Northeast: Maryland, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse
B1G East-Central: Michigan, MSU, tOSU, Penn Stte
B1G West-Central: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue
B1G Northwest: Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin

SEC Northeast: UGA, UK, UVA, V-Tech
SEC Southeast: UF, USC, UT, Vandy
SEC Southwest: Bama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss
SEC Northwest: Arky, MIZZ, MSST, TAMU

American Northeast: Cinci, UCONN, ECU, Temple
American Southeast: UCF, Memphis, USF, Tulane
American Southwest: Houston, SMU, TTU, TCU
American Northwest: Iowa State, KU, KSU, U-Tulsa

Mountain West East: Air Force, Boise State, BYU, CSU, USU, Wyo.
Mountain West West: Fresno St, UNLV, UNM, SDSU, SJST, U of H

C-USA, MAC, PAC, Sun Belt: Largely as is, but with Texas State to C-USA and Missouri State to Sun Belt...

For the sixteen-team conferences, a workable schedule is made by playing three divisional opponents, three permanent cross divisional rivals and a game against an opponent from every other division for nine game conference slate with an additional game available outside of conference. The PAC and MWC schools should schedule games against each other to bolster their chances of being selected by the committee. The "regular season" ends the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and no school *should* schedule more than 10 games a season and no more than one game against an FCS opponent.

The conference title game is scheduled the following week with opponents determined by individual conference rules. (The SEC, for example, could stipulate that the two teams with the best out-of-division SEC record with appropriate tiebreaking mechanisms AND the stipulation that no title game will be a re-match from the current season.)

After the week of conference title games there will be six power-conference champions (ACC, AAC, B1G, PAC, SEC, MWC). Since teams from four of the six power conferences will be limited to one out of conference game in probably four conferences, an eight team playoff will be played. For sake of example, I'll use this year's CFP rankings combined with the realignment I've spelled out above to fill this field:

#1 Alabama vs #8 Baylor
#4 TCU (AAC Champ) vs #5 OSU

#3 FSU vs #6 Boise State (MWC Champ)
#2 Oregon vs #7 Mississippi State

A three-game playoff would mean two schools play a maximum of 15 games in a season with enough time from the end of August to Thanksgiving for three bye weeks during the regular season and one week between the New Years' Day semifinals to the National Title Game.

So you're trolling to hear that beating #1 KU was our biggest win ever? Is that it? It was a big win, no doubt about it, but I don't think it was one of our biggest wins ever. While enjoyable, it wasn't as big as winning a bowl game or anything. Hell, I'd say our bowl game win over South Carolina when Mizzou was still in the Big 12 was a bigger win than beating a top ranked Kansas team due to us having to come back in that game.

I was just trying to find out which win was MU's signature win in their history.

Kansas is the highest ranked team you've ever beat so naturally I would think it at least gets discussed.

Kansas was ranked #2. Mizzou has beaten #1 before. Nice try, though.

Why would the B1G, SEC, and ACC all go to 16 while the PAC stayed at 12?

Geography, academics and the fact the existing PAC South members don't want to lose games played in Southern California.

This. And when we beat Oklahoma in our house, it held a way bigger rush because literally nobody thought we stood a chance in that game.
