That would be one reason.

Personally, I'd take Embiid due to his enormous ceiling, but I'm obviously not privy to what his exact issues are (if they are even anything at all). Won't be long until we find out the real choice now, though.

Except for the fact that it was a problem in High School, and then again in his one year in college. It's going to be a recurring problem. Back problems almost never get better when you're playing high level sports.

A stress fracture is not a guaranteed chronic issue. It can quite easily be a one-time, never-recurring event.

Look, you're not wrong to take Wiggins #1. And I hope he does go #1. But all of this nonsense about embiid's back needs to stop. If it were really a concern, there's no way he'd go in the top 3 ahead of Parker or Exum or Randle or Vonleh or Gordon.
