I've never seen this side of Dane. He's always such a polite, mild-mannered chap in my dealings with him. I'm shocked.

I don't listen to much metal outside of some crossover thrash bands. I'm trying to be objective. The lyrics and chorus are just cringeworthy because to me they come off as too wannabe tough guy lyrics.

Never heard them before. They sound like a Metallica cover band.

That song sucks. The Otep song posted in this thread was good. The rest get a solid 'meh'.

Well, a few months later, looks like I was right. "Hail to the King" has spent 10 weeks at #1 on the rock charts. No other band has done that this year, and being its Mid-October, it is going to be difficult to top. So far, it has beaten "Bones" by Young Guns, out as rock song of the year.
Now mind you, I'm not talking about The Grammys (I think the Grammys are a load of shit), Im talking in the rock world. I'm talking in rock radio, which is what I work in, and what I said from beginning (although I think some people may have thought I meant Grammy wise). And I'm certainly not talking about Metal. I'm currently playing it for the billionth time as well....

What does a large market radio host know about music?

Not just radio host, but Music Director. My job is to "hear" music before anyone else. I "heard" this record.

Funny thing is there's like no stations in L.A. playing that song at all. Maybe I heard it on KROQ once or twice but that's it
