I quit a year and half ago. I still want to smoke though. I'll never get over it.

I have smoked for 20 years and quit several times. I have done it with the patch and gum. I even stayed quit for 6 months but, I would just start back. Today is my 70th day cold turkey. I swear this is the easiest way. Instead of going through the withdrawls every time you step down a patch, you get it over at once. It's still hard but it's not as bad...

I want to quit so bad. I'm tired of spending the money and tired of being treated like a second class citizen. I can make it a day but when I wake up every morning, I have to have a cig. my willpower is lowest then because I'm in a fog until I smoke. any suggestions on how to make it past the 2nd day hurdle?

I've tried to quit many many times. In the past month I'll quit for a day or 2, smoke for a day or 2, quit a day or 2 and so on.
This time I'm trying something different. I've set a "quit day" and that's this monday. Give me time in advance to prepare for it and I need to stop rationalizing and making excuses because I truly want to quit now. In May, I quit for 3 weeks and felt amazing.

I started smoking cigs at 15. Had many times through the years where I "tried" to quit but just didn't have the will power to do it and always ended up starting up the smoking cigs again. You have to really, really want to quit. It helps if you don't live/work/hang out with other smokers.
Mrs Lzen and I had always said that we would definitely quit when we decided to have kids. Fast forward to when I was 21 and we were expecting our first child. We both quit cold turkey. That was really tough at first but we were serious about it and it worked. The wife, however, started back up after our son was born. She thought she could keep it from me but I busted her and made her quit. I'm glad that we both quit when we did. I watched my old man fall apart over 12 years from the time he was first diagnosed with COPD until the day he died in 2009. That is no way to live, man. Frankly, I don't see how anyone can afford to smoke cigarettes these days. I see that they are about $6 a pack now. That's a lot of $$$ down the drain.
