You should be worried about Rivers

Dude is straight up beasting this year.

He just set the all time record for accuracy in a 400 yard game, and there is only one other QB even close to as good as him statistically this season (Manning, duh). Manning is statistically better in every category, actually he leads the NFL in every important category, but Rivers is right behind him.

I think a lot of you were assuming 2 wins against us this year, but what I've seen from Rivers the last 4 games has me more excited than ever. He's never played this good, and he used to be considered "Elite."

I'll compare Rivers, Manning, and Brees because they seem like the 3 best QBs to compare as of now. Brady is suffering with his shitty receiving corps, or else I'd throw him in here too.

Yards
Manning - 1470 (1st)
Brees - 1434 (2nd)
Rivers - 1199 (7th)

Comp %
Manning - 75.0% (1st)
Rivers - 73.9% (2nd)
Brees - 66.9% (4th)

Touchdowns
Manning - 16 (1st)
Rivers - 11 (2nd)
Brees - 10 (3rd)

Passer Rating
Manning - 138.0 (1st)
Rivers - 118.8 (2nd)
Brees - 103.8 (5th)

Total QBR
Manning - 91.4 (1st)
Rivers - 81.4 (2nd)
Brees - 74.9 (4th)

Interceptions (Starters Only)
Manning - 0 (1st)
Rivers - 2 (T-4th)
Brees - 4 (~T-18th)

Apologies to Aaron Rodgers for not having played 4 games or else I'd use him in comparison too.

Rivers has always been one of the best 3 quarter QB's.

I think we'll probably get spanked by the Chargers the first time we play them.

It'll be right after our game in Denver, and right before our next game against Denver. I'm willing to bet we'll be taking the week off and Rivers will carve us up.

Yes, I am worried about Rivers.

I am worried that he will end up with an injury after the Chiefs defense kicks his ass.

Rivers is producing for sure, but our defense could be a challenge for him.

Your defense isn't so great though. We'll see.

To be honest, though, before the past few years, Kaeding, Marty, and Norv were the ones who really melted down in the playoffs, while LT pouted on the sidelines with his usual "toe injury."

And that reminds me of another point: yes, Rivers is a douchebag, yes, he's thrown embarrassing tantrums on the field sometimes, but he also is a pretty tough quarterback. He doesn't get enough credit for things like playing with a torn ACL in the AFC title game against the then-undefeated Patsies. He threw 37 passes that game and only lost by 9 points! (To this day, I believe we could have won that game with a healthy Rivers and Gates, but I digress.) Meanwhile, pussies like Peyton can't even handle cold weather in the playoffs.

Gotta admit, dude has been playing fantastic considering what he's working with.

Average at best receivers and no running game usually spells doom for a QB, and as the season goes on that might still hold true...

The right head coach and offensive system finally found Phillip. Good for him and them. He is killin' it right now because he is seeing the whole field and they don't even pretend to run the ball. Smart. When the Chargers get some legit WRs and a defense, watch out.
