Cassel has Bridgewater snapping at his heels....will he be DONE a few weeks in?

Smith had a solid season last year, but theres been some losses to free agency on the line and our secondary may allow a metric ass ton of points....

1st overall pick...in the 2005 draft - and look at the 1st 5 seasons man....

I'm not* saying he was ryan leaf but if you are simply grading the pick as either a 'hit' or 'bust' I would rate it a bust.....EXCEPT for the fact they traded back out of the pick and got two second rounders for it.

The Chiefs on the other hand, got BONED.

Why? We have beaten this ****ing horse to elmers glue and back.

yes, alex smith struggled until Jim Harbaugh saved his career.

since he got good coaching, two years with harbaugh, and one year with andy reid, he has one of the best winning percentages in football.

Im not ignoring his first 6 years in the league. The 49ers were a complete shit show.

Give him competent coaching, and hes a winner.

Id dare say that most all good to great qbs have had that.

So why should that be held against alex smith?
