Why I am quite honored to be called such. BTW, I do have a cave. Seriously. The old "Dorothy and Toto" behind the house root cellar. Now it is incorporated in the house (added on an extension). It makes a super wine cellar/pub table/darts, with oil lanterns. One of the coolest rooms in the house. The man-cave comes close.

As a question to the country people, do you bring your bison inside once it gets cold?

And i know of absolutely NO farm dogs that aren't kept solely for hunting that are kept fenced in.

Hell one farmer that is about 80 has a good sized one that rides around on the ROOF OF HIS TRUCK. Not in the bed, although many ride on the bed out on the flat bed, but on the roof.

It's funny to go walking into the store and this dog is laying on the roof of the truck in the parking lot

I can pretty much piss wherever I want to here. I choose a restroom when available because I'm grown, but a major metro doesn't prevent too many folks from doing whatever the **** they want.

I would wager, that all the CP'rs who life in the country, do not have their dogs fenced in.
You have to keep in mind that you're not replying to people that are actually living on a farm. They have a small chunk of land outside of town and consider themselves rural for it.
I'm with you guys. Every one of my farming friends have a pack of dogs roaming their property. That's their security system.

In town there are fences. But an actual farm dog isn't being fenced in

Were I married or had a serious live-in gal pal, I wouldnt want to live anywhere but the country... just me, my gal and a bunch of critters

Piss where you want
Huge bonfires
LOUD music
Fireworks are illegal? not out in the boonies they arent
Shoot your guns
Peace and quiet anytime you want it
No noisy neighbors
Crime is almost nonexistent
And best of all, the stars on a clear night... theres nothing else like it

But as a currently single guy, town seems best for now... I spend plenty of time in the boonies for my job, and genuinely enjoy it

Not you, personally. Or Buehler.
I know you weren't aiming that my direction. Fact is I'm pretty anti country. I don't have time to do all the shit people move to the country for. When it's nice to live in the country and do shit outside I am in the field 18 hours a day. So when I crawl off the tractor, sprayer or combine the last thing I want to do is ****ing ride horses, sit in a field and drink beer, fix fence, shoot guns, mow, run a garden or whatever people that want to "be country" do. In fact I'm probably closer to a bean counter than a country boy, spending a mountain of time managing to margins, and returns to assets and investments as well as creating giant assed spreadsheets and running a 10 key. Only difference is I spend a shitton of time outside and doing fieldwork and labor.

People that make their living in the country -"here" anyway - can't be dumbass bumpkins. The margins have thinned enough that you better have a sharp pencil.

I live in an area that is rural, has all the country bumpkin life but also has everything a suburb has. And 3 weekends in the year becomes Missouri's 3rd city with a million people.

I have to admit the peeling outdoors thing is hilarious.

You guys call it a "freedom", where I live, you'd be called homeless.

At work, I bet I average eight outdoor pisses a week. The nearest toilet is usually 10-20 miles away. Plus, I'd have to load up tools and shut down equipment.
