Jesus, now I don't feel so bad being a fan of a Team who has Bruce Weber as their Coach at $2MM per year.
My condolences, Mizzou Nation

I actually think hes a good fit for Mizzou, but Christ, he could have been had for far less. Even at 3mm a year

I'm ambivalent on this. He can recruit, we know that-- and now he's in his own back yard doing it with some pretty lush grounds ripe for the picking. But he's not done much with those recruits, as we've said ad nauseum. Still, the Mizzou job is not what it was, and I don't think the "sleeping giant" narrative matters when you're basing a career on every decision. Ultimately, they likely overpaid for what is probably one of the few best guys they could realistically get. I do trust that no search is completed before back-channeling the Marshall clique, and I don't think we had much of a chance at the other "big-splash" hires; Martin is the best of the remaining coaches to "put butts in the seats".

I think Mizzou could be a top 2 or 3 program in the SEC in basketball if they could actually recruit St. Louis. This hire seems like it could be Mike Andersone-esque, which I think is about the best Mizzou could have really hoped for, though I think Frank Martin, Marshall, etc. should've been the main targets if they were interested. |

I think Marshall is going to end up at a blue blood like Indiana. He doesn't need a pit stop school... he is that well thought of.

The rumored assistant coaches are really interesting, if you like the ability to recruit STL and CHI. Nothing is in stone, but things are looking interesting.

First recruiting move is to get Mark Smith on board. From Edwardsville, committed to Mizzou baseball then decommitted and blew up on the basketball side.

Romar out at Washington.
If Martin is looking for an assistant coach, Mr. Porter is available. |
