*** Official 2017 Royals Offseason Repository ***

The reign is over. Time to begin the quest for the next one.

Interesting offseason opens for the Royals. Will they go all in for one last shot with this crew? Will they re-tool for 2018 and beyond? Will Dayton Moore actually decrease payroll this time?

Trades, free agent signings, rumors, plans, proposals... dump 'em all here, for this is... the offseason repository!

Royals Top Prospects, 2017

This is a list that’s going to seem a little bleak initially, as Raul Mondesi got enough ABs to age out of the prospect rankings (just barely – at 135 ABs, he is not rookie eligible). But that said, I like the talent and feel like this is a system that will actually be underrated by the prospect services.

Spoiler!

This isn't a legit rebuttal. Saying "there's risk on anyone" implies all players have the same risk profile. They obv don't. Saying Tony Gonzalez and Tony Moeaki are both risky TE would be funny.

In terms of risk, a former TJ victim carries significantly higher risk.

Seeing that you isolated the first part of my reply and only responded to it, do you have any thoughts on the rest of my post? I'll copy it below.

In that case, lemme make it easier for you.

Jeremy Maclin is the key to a successful Chiefs offense. Next season we must reduce wasteful passes on douchebag Kelce and gadget Hill and focus on getting one of the best players in the NFL more targets.

Now that I think of it, the Royals are looking for a low cost solution at DH, right? Well the answer is right in front of us, two words - Billy Butler. He knows the team, is due for a bounceback year, and his BBQ sauce could give the team much needed rallies in the future.

Speaking of winners like Butler, didn't Hillary Clinton win the popular vote? Should Trump's election even count when he lost so soundly to team Hill? Checkmate, Conservatives.

You're just trolling me now. Rep. I need to remember Wade closing out the WS and us being on top. I'll love them all forever!

Billy Butler was actually at the Chiefs game last night.

So was Andy McCullough. He was there covering the game for his paper in LA. I ended up watching a bit of the KC Star's Facebook Live chat after the game, he made a guest appearance with Mellinger, Terez, etc. It was just like old times.

KC will never have another like McCullough. I'm happy we had him, even if for such a short time.

I disagree.

The KC Star has always been a breeding ground for great writers that go on to huge and successful careers.

Luckily, the KC Star has proven to be a launching pad for many ambitious writers over the years. Joe Posnanski, Jason Whitlock, and Kent Babb were all talented writers who ended up finding work in much larger markets.

Whatever happened to Gib Twyman and Jonathan Rand - aka the dark days of KC Sports columnists?

Twyman got fired for plagiarism and then died of a heart attack several years ago. I don't know what Rand is doing but he was possibly the most boring sports columnist ever. I saw him on a panel of sports writers in J-school at Mizzou in the 80s and his personality was just like his writing.

Not Royals related anymore, but damn.

Per Rotoworld:

The younger brother of Edinson Volquez has been stabbed to death in the Dominican Republic.

Brandy Volquez, 25, was reportedly involved in an early-morning fight Monday with two men at a barbershop in Santo Domingo. There is one person in police custody. It's yet another unspeakable family tragedy for Edinson, who lost his father hours before starting Game 1 of the 2015 World Series. "I will always remember you my brother. May God have you in his kingdom," the newly-signed Marlins right-hander wrote on his Instagram account Tuesday. "RIP one love."
