*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

I'm 5'11", and about 185. I don't feel like I could "easily" put on any more mass without steroids. I mean, MAYBE if I stop playing soccer, but ugh. |

I'll probably end up eating my words, and end up around 190lbs when I'm done. I just get near 200 every time and decide I don't want to go any lower, but I was playing ball at the time so I don't really need the extra weight. What sucks is that I dont have the time to do the extra cardio/hiit that I want to. Kids eat up a lot of time! |

I don't think the body lets you do it when you get to a certain level. It knows that I'm doing a lot of cardio and just won't let me easily put on much more mass. It would have to be forced.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I can not keep my weight at all during the season. Always drop to about 162. I did no soccer over winter and put on 17 lbs. Back down to 170 already while consuming considerably more calories trying to prevent the loss.

AMPK gets activated during intense cardio and no amount of calories will counteract it. AMPK vs mTOR and AMPK is going to win.

To creatine or not to creatine. I've used creatine before and had some good results so I'm thinking about starting back up. It would sure help me maintain strength and maybe gain a little while I'm still on this caloric deficit.
