Of course not. His surrounding pieces on offense weren't PERFECT. How can you expect any QB to beat the Dolphins and Tebow at home when you aren't giving him any support at all?

God damn it. Cassel's throne on the sideline was supposed to be Tempurpedic! How the **** do you expect him to feel comfortable in this offense if everything isn't just right?

For all the bitching about Cassel, and a lot of it well deserved, it gets to a point where it serves no purpose. He is our QB. That's it. It's done. Not a damn thing we can do about it, just like the last 3 years. Is it painful to watch at times? Yes, very. That being said he seems to have taken a step forward this off-season. How big of a step is yet to be seen but as others have stated we have not heard this kind of talk about him in camp since he has been here. We have a couple of factors that may ease the pain of Cassel at QB; JC is back, we have Hilis and not TJ, we have Winston and not B-Rich, we have Hudson and not Weigman, we have Boss and not Pope, we have Dabbol and not Haley\Muir\Zorn or Haley\Weiss or Haley.

I just want the ****er to be good enough. He doesn't have to be Manning or Brady or Brees. Just be tough, make good reads and good decisions and manage the ****ing game. It's the best we can hope for. There are roughly 5-6 "elite" QB's and that's if you include P. Manning with Denver and Rivers. We need Cassel to be Flacco really is what it comes down too. Make the passes when they need to be made, don't do anything stupide and let the running game\defense take it over.

The Ravens haven't won anything with Flacco either. And the 49ers haven't won anything with Alex Smith.

Just for reference.

I agree but they have won more than we have. And the Ravens did it against good teams, not the NFC West. The Ravens know if they are going to win a SB with Flacco it's going to be due to their running game and defense, not because they aired it out all over the place. Offensivle as a whole I think we have more talent than Baltimore and if Cassel could reach that Flacco level we most definitely would. Defensively I think we are getting closer to a Ravens D. The addition of Poe could turn DJ into a Ray Lewis type. I was listening to some talking head who pointed out that Lewis is great because he is always free to make plays without a guard bearing down on him. If we can keep the O-line off of our LB's I think we take a big step towards a Ravens level defense.

We have a GM that thinks Cassel going to the bathroom by himself is validation for a longterm deal as this team's franchise QB. A playoff win would earn Cassel a $100 million extension and another 5 years on top of what he's already receiving.

If Dabbol or Daboll or however you spell his ****ing name, does 1 thing this years I hope it is to craft a couple plays that Cassel can execute when teams stack the line against the run. I saw them run a TE seam pass last night and I cannot recall us doing that much under Haley. More slants, an RB squirting out in the open space between the d-line and secondary. SOMETHING! Something that is going to make a defense wait that extra split second when they bring down 8-9 guys in the box to make sure it's a run.

Then again I think with Baldwin you always have your hot route and it's simple. I say Baldwin because at this time there is no Bowe and I think Baldwin has better hands.

If they bring down 8-9 guys they most likely not going to leave Baldwin in 1-1 coverage with just a CB. So motion him over to the weaker safety and make him drop back instead and just tell Baldwin to go and chuck the ****er. That play is going to open up either a straight go route or a post route over the middle and with Baldwin, Casel doesn't even need to play fake, just throw the ****er up on a 3-step drop and let him go get it.
