Yes it is. You've managed to out "Iowa" the whiny Hawkeye fans around here. Not quite as bad as the Nebraska fans though

I could get into a lot of trouble for releasing this publicly so, please, keep it under your hat. Please remember this is written as the game should have been called, more outcome dependent than a foul's a foul, and I'm not sure Curtis Shaw is with this program, but it's the way the game should be called.

1825 moving screen on Withey, good call, he's moving.

1753 foul on EJ, good call, also the T was undoubtedly appropriate. Not sure what Self was doing here. I hear that he winked to the KU fans behind the bench after he got the T.

First push on Niang as Withey is catching, good call

1555 ISU guy setting pick like a middle school girl, arms in front and out in front of him to slow down Withey. Worse than the first one called on Withey, but no call 1 0 ISU

1018 this one is hard to believe for a D1 official. Tharp has it underneath for a spot throw in. He picks up his left foot and hops an inch or 2 to the right. He's called for traveling. There is no such thing as traveling when you are out of bounds. You merely have to keep one of your feet within a 3 foot wide area on the inbounds line for the throw in, and could actually go as far backwards as you like. the official used the traveling signal. He doesn't know the rule. that is disturbing 2 0 ISU

930 Ellis whacked in the face when he misses a chippie. no call. 3 0 ISU

753 foul on Niang on Withey move, easy call, moved him with his lower body

728 block on EJ drive, very close to goaltend but too close too call

726 ISU player traveled after catch, instead Trel called for foul. travel occurred before body contact. 4 0 ISU

719 moving screen on 22 ISU on made 3, worse than the first one called on Withey. 5 0 ISU. I've done this analysis for many games over the years and do it objectively for those of you that haven't seen it before. Have officiated college basketball at a higher level than 99% of all officials.

700 foul called for EJ on alley oop. Phantom call 5 1 ISU

637 over the back on 3 for ISU, easy call

543 Trel reaches in on ISU drive and hits wrist to get ball loose. you can tell he gets arm and not ball because of the ball action. 5 2 ISU

455 lob to Withey, he's grabbed as ball is thrown, no call. Withey shows official what happened by tugging on his own shirt. 6 2 ISU

431 Tharpe reaches in and gets ball, couple seconds later B Mac does same thing, gets ball, but foul called on Tharpe. Should have been no whistle. 7 2 ISU

118 charge on withey. close but right call

end of half action, all good

1851 choice here, no call or intentional. trel reached out to grab, but didn't restrict him in the slightest. this really should have been a no call but I won't count it as an error because trel did reach out and try to grab him, he just didn't end up affecting anything

1823 foul on Bmac on 3. if you touch a guy's arm shooting a 3, it's a foul. no such thing as ticky tack on that. bmac reacted immediately . good call

1500s all the action, nothing there, good no calls, both ways

1516 charge on withey. worst call of the night , was a block 8 2 ISU

1456 block by traylor on niang, too much body, moved through him. should have been foul. 8 3 isu

1435 block on the ellis drive, should have been charge. if you don't think that wasn't a result of the bad call on withey, you don't know officials 8 4 isu

1420, same exact play and result on niang move on traylor, this time same official doesn't pass, calls foul. lol, he got it right.

1256 travel on trel, good call, and self told whitehead the same thing

1225, foul on niang on loose ball, wasn't foul, but actually took basket away from ku, so wasn't in ku's favor. they threw it away on inbounds. the call actually beneffitted ISU. I won't count it either way

1050 goaltending on young, should have been on ISU player. took watching it several times, but it was ISU's hand that got caught in net. You can see Young's 2 hands clear of the net. 9 4 ISU

921 ISU player on ground with ball then stands and passes it. didn't have control of it, was dribbling it with 1 hand as we was getting up. ok no call

857 double team of tharpe called a foul, was a jump. 9 5 isu

729 could have been moving screen on niang, was moving as contacted trel on made 3, but won't count it. just pointing out i'm not being biased

653 on withey. tough call but was appropriate.

Ellis is growing up, efffective spot up mid range, and better on the boards

couple close calls on drives in 5 minute mark, one each way, very similar calls, cancel each other out

259 and 1 for elijah, not enough there should have been no call 9 6 isu

223 flop by lucious, doesn't even fall the way that he supposed got hit, complete phantom flop, don't reward that, should have been no call, 10 6 isu

118 foul on babb good call

55, could have been moving screen by ISU on trel... just saying

23 foul switch by withey young, should have been 4th on withey anyway because of the bogus charge, but i'll count this as an error favoring KU even though that is questionable 10 7 isu

10 seconds, the biggie. it's actually o'neill's primary call, as the black official is on the other side of basket on baseline. couple reasons why neither blew whistle, potentially, and I don't have a problem with it. first, as EJ plants to go up, the defender behind him moves into him and propels him forward a little bit. I don't know if he would have been able to avoid the collision anyway, but that complicates it. secondly, niang is starting to go down a tad early, another no no. in my book, niang is there in time, and his little movement of his right foot doesn't change my opinion, but the 2 points mentioned above in that situation certainly give rise to possibility of a decent no call.

i actually have a bigger problem with the call on niang on the floor as EJ makes the pass, where he wanted it, when he wanted it to get there. that should have been a no call, even iff niang hit his arm a little bit. it didn't affect anything ej was trying to do, at all. so overall, i'll count it as 1 call in favor of ku. 10 8 isu

OT

146 foul on KY on drive, nothing there, fouls out KY, 11 8 ISU

145 travel on withey. if you are going to call that, you can call 20 more travels a game. should have been no call 12 8 isu

132, foul on withey, decent call, got ball but body went through shooters body

110, here's a funny thing, IS fan on front row is raising hands saying 5 seconds 5 seconds as EJ holds ball for 3, then starts dribbling. guy apparently doesn't know that the dribbling restarts the count. go figure

bottom line, ISU got benefit of errors from home cooking or whatever 12 to 8. ISU fans need to put a cork in it. Heck even if you count the lil kid crying, and EJ dunking, we still had to overcome quite a performance on the offensive end by them. if they learned to play better defense, they'd really have something.

You had your chance. You just suck.
