Dropped balls KILLED us!!!

I lost count at 10 dropped balls. Gonzo dropped 2 or 3, DA dropped 2 (1 TD), and there were several others.

We were destined to give up plays in the secondary - you just have to control it. I think we did an acceptable job of that.

I totally agree, people are going to criticize Grbac for the INT which was returned for a TD but he had sooo many passes dropped. Special Teams really hurt us agian. I'm kinda bummed but I thought we hung in there...

I came to the realization a while ago this is a rebuilding year.

On a positive tip, Morris looked really good. That kid is going to be a player...

In fairness, Manning was hurried often. We didn't get to him as often as you'd like to be we did pressure him some. He gets rid of the ball REALLY quick.

Overall, (dropped balls aside) I'm really pleased with our performance.

I disagree that Manning was hurried in his passes all day long. He had time to look off his primary receivers MANY times. Fact is that if the Colts receivers hadn't been borrowing the vaseline from the KC receivers the score would have been worse.

Does anyone else agree that our lack of preparation in the preseason kind of hurt us today? I feel like that is why Grbac looked rusty at times and the receivers dropped the ball so much. Too bad it will take a few games for this offense to get in sync. What makes it tougher is the opposition we have to play in those games. I was hoping that we would exploit their small db's more with our big receivers. They started to towards the end of the game. I saw some postives though. I feel we could have a nice passing attack with those big receivers if the coaches choose to open that up. The defense tackled better too for most of the game while we were still in it. It may be a rough start but the offense could gel after a few games.
