Dontari Poe should just be called "Beast Mode"

I can't recall a DT with his skill set. There are only so many people in the world who weigh 340 lbs, and I dare say out of those select few (ok, in 'murica there are lots of them) he is without a doubt the fastest. Its not that he just disrupts the backfield; this guy plays sideline to sideline and can chase a runner down from behind. And he plays all three downs. He played 100% of the defensive snaps in the Dallas game. For a guy that size, that is unheard of. Any other person that size would of keeled over with a heart attack.

What is really scary about this guy is that everyone says it takes at least three years for a defensive lineman to learn his position in the NFL. This guy should have had a longer learning curve because by all accounts he didn't have any coaching in college to speak of. Give the kid a couple of years and he may well be one of the all time greats. I know it is early to say that, but I watch the guy and my jaw just drops at what he can do.

To put it in perspective, Haloti Ngata went to his first pro bowl in his fourth year when he recorded 36 tackles (26 unassisted) and 1.5 sacks. In two games in his second year, Poe went total Beast Mode and has recorded 10 tackles (9 unassisted) and 3.5 sacks.

The guy is inhuman--he is Beast Mode.

I kind of hope that someday I get to see him outside of the football field. My brain can't even compute what it is to be 6'3" 340 lbs with 14% body fat. That's an astounding mass of muscle.

I've seen him up close.

He doesn't look 340 (for the record, he's slimmed down to 330). He looks about 300, even 290 really. Just unreal how well he carries it.

Now where he looks like a 350 lb behemoth is in his legs. They are tree trunks. Just mountains of muscle.

This fits with the Prince Fielder theory.

This guy is the hands down defensive MVP, all of Hali and Houstons glory, all of the great coverage and picks, DJ running free to create havoc...

It all begins with this big mfer, all of the trouble he creates just radiates outwards... we begged for years for a true, game changing stud at NT and now we finally have him

To quote Thulsa Doom... "he is the wellspring from which we flow"
