And I'm not going to take it anymore!

I hereby publicly declare war on bulging gut and giant ass!

The diet begins NOW. The dietary supplements begin NOW. The exercising begins NOW (albeit in small quantities at first, since the idea is better health, not instant death).

The last time I stepped on the scales, I weighed in at a whopping 255, and I'm sure it's only gotten worse. The clothes I bought because I'd gotten too fat for my old clothes are now getting too tight as well. I spent the day encarcerated in a pair of pants that were downright painful. Anything beyond a leisurely walk kicks my ass. If I tried to sprint a block right now I'd probably drop dead.

Fully realizing that I'm opening myself up for a epic blast of abuse by you vicious bastards by posting this, it is my hope that any words of encouragement/barbs of fat bastard jokes will help motivate me to reach my goal.

And that goal is simple: a waist line measurement that starts with a 3 (while maintaining double digits), and a weight that starts with a 1 (while maintaining triple digits). So I figure I've got a good 60 pounds and 6" inches of fatass waistline to go.

Beyond that, I'd love to be able to fit into my crackerjacks again. That would probably mean about 80 pounds.

So, I'm off to be healthy. No more 3 a.m. bowls of cereal. No more downing a box of friggin cupcakes. No more meals that would feed a small third world community.

Tonight, I eat a Lean Cuisine dinner and take a mile walk.

Wish me luck! Hopefully the next time any of you see me, you'll see much less of me.

If you drink soda, you should stop that as well. You would be amazed at how much calories you take in drinking soda.

2 months ago I went to the Docs office and I got on the scale and I weighed 243. I went into the same rant to my girlfriend that you did on this board.

The heaviest I could ever remember being was 218 and now my big ass got up to 243.

I had to do something. I would drink about a 2 liter and a half of Pepsi every day. I cut out all those empty calories.

I eat smaller meals every day, but I eat about 5 small meals a day. I joined a gym 2 months ago. I run about 2 miles 4 days a week at the gym.

I'm down to 220 now, with my ideal weight being 205. I drink maybe a glass of soda a week and I'm in shape for the first time since I was a senior in high school 5 years ago.

Good luck man. It takes some will power, but I'm sure you have it in you.

........... Since you've made the committment do it right. Get your walks in. Make the time. Grab some headphones or books on tape.
You can do it. When you see the results it a positive thing.
