I used to work in the sports media and found Julius Erving a very classy interview; ditto for hockey player Ray Bourque.

Tony Richardson is super nice. And I've delivered to Arrowhead a couple of times (you would not believe the volume of free shoes these guys get!), and Todd McNair would always come up and start joking around. It was the year he came back from the Oilers. I was usually too star struck to come back with a godd smart assed jab.

well as a kid, both Bret Saberhagen and Kevin Seitzer wanted to kick my ass. Three friends and I used to hold arms and create a wall so the players couldnt get out of the fenced in gate where they park at Kaufman, until they gave us an autograph...
Saberhagen tried to run us down with his suburban, I called his an ASSHOLE!! and he stopped the truck, got out, got in my 14 year old face, and wanted to kick my ass.... told me to shut my fuggin mouth, and I told him to kiss my ass. He was livid. I was rolling, I wanted him to punch me, I would have gotten paid. Seitzer... heh. A friend of mine and me were one of the concrete block squares between the stadiums... we were in teh staircase where the players come up into the fenced in parking lot... and we were getting everyones autograph as they walked up the staircase... EVERYONE signed, Bo Jackson, Gary Thurman, Frank White, Brett... Floyd Bannister... tons of people... well Seitzer comes walking up with his smoking hot wife... he wouldnt sign, so I whistled and made a lewd comment about his hot wife... next thing I know he was in my face wanting to kick my ass... then he goes, Im getting security... so we run down the staircase, and hide in a large area where they warehouse the beer... Security found us... and escorted us out of the stadium with threats of trespassing. It was classic. |

Played golf with Art Still Last year and He was a super nice dude. Our other playing partner was an X Chief and X bronco named Tony Reed, I still don't know much about his playing career, but he was funny as hell and friendly.
Barry Sanders is so shy and unassuming you could read him wrong but once you approach him and talk to him you realize you're talking to a high quality nice guy. And believe it or not Reggie Jackson is a helluva nice guy,and I HATE the Yankees. My Biggest Asshole award goes to Jim Palmer, Let me tell you this guy is an arrogant prick. |

I don't think I've ever met a celebrity. I've seen a few, but I always felt weird about going up and talking to them. I usually kinda figure that they'd rather be left alone, so I do.
When I go out and pretend I'm John Lithgow, I'm a real jerk, though.

A freind of mine worked as a porter for a Toyota Dealership in KC. He brought a 4 Runner around for the customer. Talks to customer for a couple of minutes. Customer leaves. My friends coworkers asked him if he knew who that was, he didn't. Turned out to be Marcus Allen. I wanted to kick him after hearing that.

Dave Szott with out a doubt!
My family went to his charity event for my daughters birthday, same as his sons. It was in a room in Arrowhead, with Szott, T-Rich, Grunny and McGlocktin. All were great except Chester, kind of dick and acted like it was pain in the ass for him to be there. Szott took the backstage tour, in the locker rooms and out on the field with he and his wife. The players signed stuff for us and gave my daughter an autographed shirt for her birthday. On the tour she sat it down on the field and remembered when we were leaving the stadium. Szott took me and my daughter all over the stadium again to find it. Really cool. Two years later when we were at training camp, he recognized us, and came up and talked to us, he even remember us by name! Great Guy!!! |
