My Wii is starting to have dots on it, heard that the graphics card is fried and its a common problem...
Annoying to see a few pixelated dots on the screen but i can live. I will likely send it in soon to get it replaced cause its covered by warranty. My 360 has yet to redlight, knock on wood |

I'm glad to see Microsoft's problems have gone past the Personal Computer world into the console world.

I heard it's something with it on standby but who knows, related to heat probs. What did you have to do to send yours in? Call up nintendo, i assume it was free with warranty? It is an annoyance for sure. |

Yep - it was free. They didn't even ask me to troubleshoot, they just sent a link with a shipping label to print out, so shipping was paid for.

Nice, ill have to do that, thanks. i just registered my wii online so my warranty was extended 3 months. I really dont know what to do if it happens again, it was in a pretty cool area and not next to heat. Maybe unplug it everytime, not sure. It never completely shuts off.

I will do that, do you just push the power button once to shut it down or do you push and hold it for a few seconds then it does an orange light. Not sure the difference between the 2. Just saw it on some gamespot board.

I bought my 360 for Christmas. I have sent it in twice now. First time was because it would not power on at all. The second time was the red ring. This current one has not had any problems as of yet (knock on wood). I am betting that since his did it once, it will do it again. Eventually, your trick with the HD might not work. Perhaps it would be best to just send it in and have them send you a new one?

That's probably what happend to mine...is it got overheated when i just pushed the button once and it technically is on the whole time. Nintendo supposedly said its fine either way. Disappointed by them though because i didnt expect the system to mess up like that with the dots and shit. First time ill have to return/fix a system
