He wasn't running for his life "most of the time".

There's that hyperbole again.

Mentioned this earlier today, not sure if it was before the merge or after.

Example: First 9 weeks - "He's 9-0! All he does is win!"

When pointed out that the defense/ST did the majority of the heavy lifting, the boilerplate response? "It's a team game."

Fast-forward to present day. We're 2-3 over the last 5 games. Apparently, it's not a "team game" anymore.

I noticed that other boneheaded Niners fan ducked in here, made a stupid comment, and disappeared.

This one isn't that smart, apparently.

Here's the thing - there's exaggeration on BOTH sides.

The issue is this:

One side is comprised of people that root for a TEAM. Some of them have been fans for TWENTY YEARS and have never seen said team win a SINGLE playoff game. Some of them have been fans for 40 years and have seen just ONE conference championship appearance. ONE.

The other side is comprised of people that came here for the SOLE PURPOSE of telling us how lucky we are for having Alex Smith. They proceed to tell everybody here how to treat said Alex Smith and how we have to think of him exactly the way they do or we're not good fans.

The reality is that the VAST MAJORITY of people here don't hate Alex Smith. In fact, even the majority of people that hated the trade like him now. You know why? Because he's gotten A LOT better. A LOT.

And yet, here are the Smith fans, continuing to harp on us being bad fans because we aren't willing to put a crown on him.

Only one side is out of line here.

Very well said. It's not like the Smith that has been out there the past 4 games was out there the previous 9 and we were all just blind to it. He's been a new QB the last 4 games and if he continues to play like he has, I'm fine with him as QB of the Chiefs.

Classic ChiefsPlanet right there. The Chiefs franchise has had such poor QB play through the years, they are just programmed and focus on that position so much that they dont see clearly.

Cant blame the fanbase really. This Chiefs team since 1970 is one of the worst post season franchises in the NFL. Right there with the Browns and Lions. Yep,that bad.

It's not just the just QB position, or Smith specifically.

Flip-flopping is the offical sport of ChiefsPlanet.

Just two of many examples:

First - the 2010 draft.

Go back and read the draft thread after the selection of McCluster.

The pick was universally HATED. People were ****ing furious.

Then magically, before he ever played a game, people decided to change their minds and go to battle with the "drafturbators" and others.

EXACT SAME THING happened regarding the Cassel trade the year before.

That depends on which part of the season you're talking about imo... those first seven, eight games were BRUTAL.

It was a jailbreak every third play.

That has to do with sucking for so long. Then getting teased all of the 90's and ending up with blue balls year after year. During that Era. EVERYONE though, one of these years with this defense we will make it to the Superbowl. Its gonna happen, It never did. lol That just deflated everyone imo.

Then after Dicky we just went into a HUGe tailspin. I know i was at thepoint where i didnt even get mad. I just laughed. The Chiefs had Taken away my football emotion. Ididnt look forward to getting up and watching the Chiefs play. I was just a mentally defeated fan. Lucky during that Era the Lakers were kicking ass.

This team just shit on the fans over and over and it changed the fanbase.

Respectfully disagree.

If your premise were true, EVERYONE would flip-flop, and we all know that's not true.
