What did he say that was wrong with the black website stuff? It's true.

Same goes for T.V. Totally acceptable for there to be a "BET", but imagine if some network tried to make a "WET"....all ****ing hell would break loose.

I've heard this argument before and I don't get what the issue is. I have no problem with Italian American or polish American or Jewish or Mexican American or Irish Americans website or stations geared towards that audience. BET has just as many white artists showcased as tnt or country music station has black artists. There arr plenty of shows geared towards white audiences and television stations. .they just don't call it "white tv." Let's not forget why stations like Bet came about...because white music stations like MTV didnt or rarely played black artist. T.V has always been programed for mainly white audicnes so there was no need to call it white tv..because it was already "white tv." BET came out of necessity so blac artist could have a place to showcase their videos...hence the name "bet." Silly argument really. .shouldn't even have to explain it. It's not like black tv was invented for blacks to be racist it came about because of the exclusion of black entertainment on tv , and movie screens.

He asked to allow time for Cooper to mature.

Maybe he finally himself, has.

Probably the best read of his I've ever read.

I had friends on FB who commented about Cooper.....talking about how they lost respect for Riley Cooper.

Who the **** had respect for Cooper? Who, outside of Gator and Eagle fans, know who the **** Riley Cooper is?

Ding Ding! This is totally right on. In a fight, you are going to insult who you are fighting. Your words are weapons. If the guy was short, he might have called him a midget or something. Doesn't excuse that he is a dumbass and lost his self control, but I see this as more of an anger control issue than a racist issue. The word is hurtful and shouldn't be said, but only he knows in his heart if he is a racist. I would have put the idiot through anger management counseling before sensitivity training. Also needs to watch the booze.

Nailed it. I appreciate where Whitlock is coming from, but I think he's likely wrong about Cooper's motivations.

I n-bombed a dude at a bar one time about ten years ago. He had randomly poured a drink down the cleavage of a girl who was in my group at the bar. I confronted him, and he made a threat about he and his friends ****ing me up.

I responded with something along the lines of "if we have to take this outside, there's going to be one less n-word in this world, and those cops outside will help me dig the hole."

It wasn't about having racism in my heart. It was about holding a losing hand and having to make a big enough bluff that he couldn't afford to call it. I was a well dressed white guy in a club with a bunch of crew cut sporting white police officers standing outside by the door, and he and his friends left.

I'm not particularly proud of it, but I did what I felt I had to do at the time to get into his head. I think Cooper was trying to intimidate the guy, so he chose to call the guy the n-word at a concert full of white people. I'm sure the guy was intimidated. If I were working a NAS concert, and a huge back guy threatened to fight every cracker there, I'd shit my pants. It wouldn't mean the guy was racist. It would just mean he knew how to intimidate me given the circumstances.

Mostly this.

If I call you a "fat piece of $3it" in anger it doesn't mean I hate fat people.

I'm fat.

I'm just angry and picking the one thing I think will piss you off the most.

The idea that one insult is worse than another is your problem to deal with...

To me, the fat reference meant more. Meaning you were more of a piece of shit than a normal piece of shit.

Ex. Rauch, you're a big, fat German.

Well Darren Sharper would go to management and tell them he couldn't play with the guy. I think maybe he should read this article.
