That's an understatement. Our attendance last night was way below expectations. "Dark Shadows", in both regular and IMAX, only had handfuls of people. Meanwhile, the 6:45pm "Avengers" in IMAX sold out, and the 12:25am show had around 80-90 people in it.

We don't know what's happening past this upcoming week. From the 18th to the 24th, we have one more week after this one to fill with product before "MiB3" comes out on 5/25. I'm hoping this dual-theater deal continues for a second week. If we run just "Dark Shadows" from 5/18-5/24 we might as well drop the gate at the Imax and not run shows.

I think Warner Brothers knew they had a dog in "Dark Shadows" and figured they might as well throw a bone to Disney (parent company for "Avengers"). They probably will have Disney return the favor when Warner releases "The Dark Knight Rises", which Warner will want to dominate IMAX venues for a good 4 to 6 weeks.

Whats funny is, a few months ago i thought Dark Shadaws would be huge and MIB3 would bomb. Now i think the opposite is going to happen.

The MIB3 trailer people seem to like. Me personally, i think it looks and feels old and stale. Love Will Smith, but his career choices are always safe. I wish he would push himself more often.

I agree that "MiB3" is going to do better than thought. I think it'll also be better than thought. I'd heard bad stories about it (like the one that they started shooting the film without even having an ending) but, after seeing the trailer, at least it has enough possibilities to divert a moviegoer's attention for a few harmless hours. The "MiB" franchise works because of Will Smith and his interaction with Tommy Lee Jones, so having Brolin channeling a younger Jones has potential (as does the "fish out of water" plot of putting Smith in the 60s). I don't think it'll be "Gone With The Wind" but I think it'll be better than expected.

Seven Pounds? I Am Legend?

At least a couple others. He takes risks. He is just careful about it.

I guess He does on occasion. Seven Pounds was a huge flop and IMO why he's gone back to safe choices. His next movies are all sequels. MIB3, Bad Boys 3, I Robot 2, Hancock 2 and Wild Wild West 2.

Hehe, just kidding about the last one.

when I took the wife out last night this movie was featured on the pre movie entertainment. I'm a little more interested in it now just based on that.

Let's face it. I paid to see RDJr. interact with other superheroes and blow shit up. I was not disappointed. Best Hulk/Banner yet. Seeing it with a full audience was a lot of fun too. Worth every penny.
