Pittsburgh was outscored 12-2 in the four games.

Crosby doesn't get it. You don't get it, either.

Fleury has taken a lot of heat the last few years... and not that some of it wasn't deserved, definitely was this year. But the playoff D has not been good the last three years. People seem to turn the other way about that though... it's not been any better than the goaltending.

As a Devils fan I have seen Kovy get a ton of shit for his defensive play. He has come a long way since becoming a Devil. He isn't winning the Selke any time soon, but at least he puts in full effort in his end. Hell even Ovi is trying now. Malkin just skates in circles in his end. Letang seems desperate to not play the roll of a defender, and Bylsma is going to pay the price for not making the team play the way they need to.

There is no doubt the Pens hit a lot of posts, but the results on the ice were all about how Boston plays the right way and how PIT doesn't. The series was over after two games. I will give PIT credit for putting up a hard fight in game 3. Still, their meltdown in the first 2 games after having the same meltdown last year is nothing short of amazing.

Orpik hit the nail on the head during the interview after eliminating the Islanders. He saw the issues this team still had after last year, and those issues got them swept.

Interesting article on officiating, with some comparisons to the NFL...

http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2013...nges-playoffs/

I've always thought games should be called consistently throughout. A friend of mine questioned some of the calls in the playoffs, like Frolik's penalty shot against the Wings and an interference call in the Kings/Sharks game, mostly due to the timing of it... and I think it's odd, because they were both pretty obvious, IMO. If the players don't want the refs to supposedly decide the outcome, they shouldn't force them to make those calls.

After a feeling out period, it's been a really fun game to watch... the Blackhawks might end up with 40 shots in regulation, and they might have to do that all series.

Too many men on the ice, cross check to the neck, and a by the book but perhaps soft interference call...

Keith pulled a Dustin Brown by falling down after a love tap after a whistle, but nothing was called.

People think Blackhawks -> offense, Bruins -> defense, but the Blackhawks' defense and Bruins' offense are really underrated..... kind of surprised at 6 goals in game 1 though... figured it might take most of the game to feel each other out.

Yeah, they really turned it on in a hurry. And I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that this game might go to yet another OT in this playoffs.
