Had the fortune of spending the day with Marty Schottenheimer
Some of you have seen the film for Marty that I was a part of that featured 17 of Marty's former players from KC, Cleveland, SD sharing memories and offering well-wishes. Last week, my friend and co-producer went out to NC to meet the Schottenheimer's and show the the film in person. It was unreal watching Marty react to these wonderful moments that he was a part of. Even though the Alzheimer's has taken away some of his memory, he can still recall a lot of his football-related life and that made us happy. His wife Pat is a saint and the day could not have gone any better. Here's a video of Marty reacting to watching our film:
https://youtu.be/Euh4UDef3_E And a few pics from the visit: We still have DVD copies and digital copies of the film available with a portion of all proceeds going to Alzheimer's research. http://www.martyfilmkc.com/ways-to-watch.html Last edited by Stargazer; 08-20-2018 at 01:42 PM.. |

How long is the film? Is it strictly interviews or are there game highlights in it too?

It is 31 minutes of the actual film with close to an hour of full-length videos from former players like Tim Grunhard, J.J. Birden, Bob Golic, Ernest Byner etc.
The DVD is not CC'd unfortunately but the private download link is which is also available. |

Just got my DVD guys and what an amazing tribute and film. Loved it. More of the player interviews and the trailer are special features on the DVD which has an awesome layout with menus having quotes from Marty and his players.
I urge you all to go buy this it's so cool definitely a great item of nostalgia and knowing the money is going to help with Alzheimer's research is amazing!!!! Please let's make this huge for Marty we owe him a debt of gratitude for bringing football back to KC! |

Broncos fan here, through and through, but Marty is one of the coaches for whom I have a tremendous amount of respect. He was tough, fair, and ALWAYS had well prepared teams that were competitive regardless of roster strength. I hated seeing him across the field. He never won a title but he is definitely one of the great coaches in the game. Wins and losses are one thing but Marty always placed the character of his players and his team as a priority because, ultimately, that's what matters more. Sports brings character out of people in immediate ways and he understood that and used it as a tool to develop better people as well as better players. I hope for nothing but the best for him and his family.
Go Broncos. Go Marty.

Insert "The Gleam" somewhere in there too.
