I was disappointed in McClain, didn't see much reason to bring him back.

I'd be very disappointed if Jones was even invited to camp for anything other than as a workout and conditioning coach.

Last off season I wanted Battle cut, he was terrible in preseason. He played well enough I'd be okay with him coming back as our 3rd RB.

McCluster, well, if we have an OC that isn't afraid to use him then sure, if we are going to use him like Haley and just throw quick WR screens, then why bother.

Sadly that leads us with someone to split carries with Charles, and needing a FB as well.

We should keep Battle though. Even though he only had 2 decent games this year and we are likely going to draft someone to do his job.
DMC had around 1300 all purpose yards.

850 or so were from scrimmage.

Know your terminology.

My bad. I should have taken into account the people who look at return yards.

KR yards are cheap yards. He averaged 22.3 yards on KRs. If he doesn't return the ball at all we start at the 20. So he gained us an extra 2.3 yards 25 times. He averaged 10.8 yards on PRs on 6 attempts. So he effectively gained 122.3 yards we wouldn't have already had.

You saw how McClain could be used when Orton was in the game.

McClain was still shit with Orton. He was better but shit nevertheless. Missing blocks. Getting owned. Dropping balls.
I am fine with keeping him though. He has potential and is young.

Hmmm...I see where everyone is talking about my mistake on McCluster.

I will concede the mistake but I would need an explanation.

Were the issues with McCluster all part of Cassel being in there or Issues with the Offensive Coordinator putting in bad plays. (whomever the OC was since heck we don't really know who was calling plays)

I think the issue with me is that I have not evolved from the old school thinking of power run game. I didn't see where McCluster fit. That is why I went the direction I did and would probably pick up some O-line help in either Free Agency or the draft in the second round or whenever.

I guess it is all a moot point if they trot Cassel out there again.

Bring back McClain on a 1-2 year deal.
Let Jones go.
Draft a RB.

Charles, McCluster, Rookie, McClain

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Sign Snelling from Atlanta in FA. Bring Battle back at a minimum. Cut McClain. Draft a rb in the late rounds and pick up another UDFA.
