What I'm saying is, we know they can beat the big boys in their house. Now they are going to be tested on their resolve to destroy an inferior opponent on the road, and not do what the Chiefs are known to do.

We go in to LA and shellac these ****ers, then I'll know our team has turned a corner.

We've done that before. Remember the Colts game last year? We knew we were better and we went and stomped Luck on the road. If we always lost to bad teams we wouldn't make the playoffs

KC has not lost to a team that finished with a losing record since October 2015 (Bears)

I don't understand the narrative that we can't beat bad teams. In fact, I don't think the Chiefs have ever lost to a losing team on the road under Reid (aside from one Thursday night). Good thing this is a Sunday

Good point. I guess I'm still shell shocked from years of Chiefs fandom. Let's kill us some Chagahs!

I feel like this team is focused and won't over look or take any team lightly. We are bound to lose a division game this year but probably not this one to a team that has no fans in the seats.

SD is on the verge of quiting. We roll 31-14.

Perhaps, but I also believe that there's a losing culture there. They can play close with good teams but they always seem to find a way to lose.

Chiefs should win.

Keys
On offense: Handling Bosa and Ingram
On defense: Covering Keenan Allen

The Chiefs should win this game by 2 TDs if I'm looking at it honestly... the defense should smother their offense and with Hunt, Hill and Kelce - the offense should have all they need to score consistently.

Somewhere around here. Sprinkle in a closing drive by San Diego, where they snatch defeat from the clutches of victory. It is their modus operandi.

Only way KC loses is if our secondary just can't stop their receivers at all. It's possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

The Chiefs are 11-1 in the division and 24-4 in their last 28 regular season games.

What are they "known to do" again, other than win?

Their offensive line is average at best and probably below average.

The Eagles gave the Chiefs problems up the middle of the offensive line and San Diego's defensive tackles and ILBers are nothing special. Fisher and Schwartz might give up a few pressures and a sack but it'll be nothing like the Eagles game, where there was constant pressure on Alex Smith in the first half. I think the middle of their defense can be exploited with shovel passes and Kareem Hunt, which will allow Hill to break free for a score or two.

And finally, Anthony Lynn is not head coaching material and Gus Bradley hasn't flashed as a defensive coordinator (or high end football mind) since he was in Seattle all those years ago.

Andy's going to scheme them to death.
This. Dane and I both watched the Chargers and have essentially come to the same conclusion.

I do expect Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa to get theirs. Those guys are beasts. But it won't be enough.

But damn, Melvin Ingram looks good and Bosa's capable of blowing a play up on his own. Melvin Gordon is a JAG, IMO, so if Ford can play even an adequate game, their running game doesn't worry me much.

What would concern me is if Allen gets in a groove like he did last year. The Chiefs (Marcus Peters included) had absolutely no answer for that guy last year. If he gets off early in the game, they could stick around long enough to convince themselves that they'll win.

Then again, it's the Chargers. There's never any reason to expect that they'll actually seal the deal.

So I say we get plenty of gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands in the first half as their defense forces a big turnover to lead to a short field TD, we trade scores in the third and end up going into the 4th down. Ultimately the Chargers do Charger stuff to open the door and we end up winning 23-21.
Gates is done. They pretty much only look to him in the red zone. Between the hashes it's all about Hunter Henry.

I'm slightly worried about Keenan Allen and that WR corpse, but the combination of poor pass protection and piss ass predictable play calling will help nullify.

Being a San Diego native i've watched the Chargers like they're my 2nd team, and this is the least impressed i've been with them in awhile.

I mean, people make a big deal about the Chargers barely losing to Miami in a game they "should've won" due to a missed FG, but that game was awful.

KC wins by 7 or less.

SD is more talented than any team we've faced so far.

Yes, I SAID THAT...
