I know this isn't any help but there's a place in Springfield (national chain) called Lenny's that makes killer cheesesteaks.

I just called my junk food expert in Wichita, and he said he knew of none.
We have a little franchise chain up here called Charlies. They have an awesome Philly. Everyplace else around here puts Italian beef under some cheese and passes it off. |

I've never had a good Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I guess I need to go to Philly and try a real one before I judge.

Just don't put green peppers on a Philly. They don't belong there.
TIA.

Steak-umm, bell pepper, onion, pepperoncini [or raw jalepeno, if I had it around], all browned together. Hoagie roll, toasted lay down a layer of queso-blanco on the toasted roll spoon the browned meat/veg over the cheese. coupe de grace, a liberal salting with Zatarain's Seasoning'n'Herbs.
