Well, it's an Andy Reid draft.
Say what you will of Joeckel, but Hopkins is a legit threat. Almost every player drafted has stud starter upside: Hopkins, Short, Nico, Moore, Lester... Edit: Joeckel solidifies the LT at potentially an elite level. Hopkins gives the WR corps more lethality (new word?). Kawann Short provides insurance for Tyson Jackson, Moore for Dennis Johnson, and both Moore and Buchanan for Hali. Lester is a future starter at strong safety in a season or two. Nico's a day one starter. If half those players develop well, that's a very powerful draft. |

Jordan was already taken by the Jags, #2 overall. Sorry, Charlie.
What do you know about Armstead, other than the fact that he's an athletic freak? I always shy away from those players, because they are taken higher by braver souls than I. |

Totally didn't see your first three picks there. I'll fix it.
Can I trade down again? |

Armstead is a guy who I think has about the same ceiling as Lane Johnson. He obviously has a lower floor....but if I was Reid....I'd let Stephenson and Armstead battle it out in TC.

And think about all the moving around you could do with that o-line. You could keep Hudson at C or move him to LG. Quessenberry can be plugged in at C if he shows up in TC...or he can be the backup for the G/C positions. I'd honestly go with an o-line like this.
LT - Armstead, Stephenson LG - Asamoah, Quessenberry C - Hudson, Quessenberry RG - Schwartz, Quessenberry RT - Allen, Stephenson |

Your first mock in this thread provides us with one upgrade at a starting position, and it's the least important position on the defense.
That's an abomination.

I disagree. I think Hopkins is a genuine upgrade from Baldwin's regression. I think Short provides an upgrade over Jackson (by 2014...), and I think Berry/Lester will become an improvement over Berry/Lewis. And Charles/Franklin is the best RB tandem we'll have had since Johnson/Charles in 2009.
In the meantime, I've loaded the team in this mock with potential replacements of any 2014 departures, including of course Hali and Jackson. |
