Ark City Teen Arrested for Theft from Police

An 18-year-old Ark City woman is arrested after police say she tried to steal from them.

The woman was arrested for shoplifting from Love's Country Store early Monday morning. Police say, she was allowed to use the restroom at the police station when she was brought in for processing. As she was coming out of the restroom, officers noticed her shirt was bulging.

When officers asked her what was under her shirt, they found she was trying to steal a 35mm camera and some books that belong to the police department.

Police immediately recovered their property.

The woman was cited for the theft from Love's Country Store and theft from the Police Department. She was released on bond.
