Oh yeah, I remember the USFL vs NFL lawsuit. USFL won the suit and the damages were tripled...to $3.

I used to love the USFL. We had the Boston Breakers. Played at BU's Nickerson Field. ABC and ESPN had the games. There were some very entertaining teams. Doug Flutie and Hershal Walker with the New Jersey Generals. Steve Young out in LA. Jim Kelly in Houston. Bobby Hebert in Michigan. Jim Mora, who couldn't win a playoff game in the NFL, won 2 Championships coaching the Stars. Reggie White in Memphis. Those were a couple of fun years.

Arizona Wranglers, Oklahoma Outlaws (later merged to the Arizona Outlaws), Chicago Blitz, Washington Federals, Orlando Renegades, Jacksonville Bulls, Oakland Invaders, Pittsburgh Maulers, Tampa Bay Bandits, Birmingham Stallions, Denver Gold...I'm sure there are more but that is off the top of my head.
