Computer deal: refurbished for $330

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Fac...&skuId=3720363

Let me preface by saying I hate HP. My current dying machine is a HP laptop that has been wonky since I bought it.

I'm not a gamer...web browsing, youtube, some video watching, image editing with GIMP, and skype.

But I'm looking for a sub-$400 unit. And this seems likes a decent deal w/ 4GB and the AMD A4 2.5ghz.

Thoughts?

Doesn't seem like a bad buy. Have you tried tigerdirect yet?

I wouldn't buy an HP laptop with your credit card.

Dude, don't buy a refurbished laptop. And never buy a computer from Best Buy. Just watch Slickdeals for any laptop deals, they have them several times a week. Just be patient, and you will find some very good deals.

i hear you, but I've come to think of laptops as 2-3 year investments, at which point I'll want to replace it even if it isn't broke...so a certain level of shitty-ness becomes irrelevant..

I grabbed a PC from Wal Mart a few weeks ago. It's the unholy trinity: Wal Mart/AMD/HP. But it was $450 for 3.1 Ghz quad, 1T hard drive, comes with 6GB ram (can up to 16).

I'll be in the market for a new laptop soon. Mine is chuggin' along, but getting a little long in the tooth. Had it 5 years. I think it's 2GB RAM and 80GB HD. not sure what processor etc. Basically just use it for internet, email, you tube etc.

sounds like I could get a replacement for sub $500 if I were to shop around.

Gaming question. Just interested in playing a few games (e.g., TF2) at work. Will a intergrated GPU and i3 Sandy Bridge processor be sufficient?

If so, I'm dumping my 5 year old Lenovo like yesterday.

I've had good luck with Tigerdirect in the past, and they usually have some pretty great deals. Worth checking out, anyway...

My son started playing Minecraft. What features do you gamers look for in a new PC that will maximize the experience for this and other games?
