The Chiefs had pressing needs after a rough free agency, and they still have massive questions on the offensive line and at wide receiver. Dee Ford is a nice long-term gamble, but should start his career as a part-time player. Third-round cornerback Phillip Gaines seems more like a developmental prospect. Fourth-round RB/WR/return/cornerback/football player De'Anthony Thomas is a wild card. This was a draft in which the Chiefs needed some instant-impact players, and it's hard to see them here.

Not sure how Dee Ford doesn't fit a need for a team that had zero QB pressure the second half of the season and choked away a playoff win due in part to Luck having all day to throw deep?

But I am sure Walters knows better. That Guard could have been the missing piece-now our draft is shit.

Yes, but you're just making the assumption that there was no source. Not to defend Athan (I know very little about him), but you just don't know. If reporters get caught making stories up, that's usually going to end, or significantly hamper, their careers.

I think some of it has to do with people getting hung up over the "DE" position. I'm still seeing people that think he is a 3-4 DE and not knowing that he will play OLB and is a good pass rusher. I still see people writing that he was drafted to replace TJax.
