Do you think they will make him wear that gay little scarf or give him an updated outfit? Either way this movie will suck.

My choices (in order of slight preference):

1- Timothy Olyphant

2- Sam Worthington

3- Jeffrey Donovan

4- Nathan Fillion (as suggested before)

Do I have a good eye for casting or what? I missed my calling. Maybe Dane can hook me up with a casting company.

I doubt that Disney or Bruckheimer would cast Olyphant in a big budget remake. He's never shown the ability to carry a film.

Worthington is gearing up for Avatar 2 & 3, which will be shot simultaneously, has the "Commando" remake, Clash of the Titans 2 and "Quatermain" on his busy schedule, so I'd guess that's not an option.

There's no way they cast two TV stars in a $100 million dollar plus film to play with Johnny Depp. No way.

And Aaron Ekhart has about as much appeal as Bill Pullman. He's a one note actor that couldn't carry any of the films he's been cast as lead.

From what I've heard, this movie will be told through the eyes of Tonto, not the Lone Ranger, so he would be a good fit, if cast.

OK that's different from what I perceived. That would be OK.

He hasn't, but I'm not sure he's been cast in anything that anybody would have the ability to carry. The caveat being that I never saw Live Free or Die Hard (pg-13 die hard? **** that shit...). Hitman? What else has he headlined? I Am Number Four? Yeah, that one would tank if they cast Jesus in it.

Now that said, I've only really seen him shine in two roles, Seth Bullock and Raylan Givens. Maybe he just doesn't have much range? Although I did like his couple of weeks on The Office. Never watched Damages, so I didn't see him there.

As I mentioned earlier, the concept of the new LR is that it will be told through Tonto's perspective, meaning the weight of the film will of course be on Johnny Depp's shoulders. In that case, Olyphant is a great choice.

Don't get me wrong: I like Olyphant and always have. It's just that studios need a bankable star for a big budget film and if Depp were a secondary or tertiary character, they'd need a bigger name to top line the film.
