My great grandmother was Melungeon. For those who are unaware, that would be primarily "African" with some "Native American" thrown in, mixed with central and northern European. Go ahead. Most Native Americans aren't offended by it and who says you have a right to go through life un-offended anyway? No one. The problem here is this is Washington's brand name and in that context it's not a racial slur and SC has ruled as such.

That's when they disclosed that the Native American guy on the "please don't litter" commercials way back in the day was actually a Cajun from Louisiana and not an injun.

Redskins, and Chiefs are two completely different spectrum's of a race of people. One is a term derived from color of skin obviously while the other is an actual esteemed person among tribes. If you ban the word redskins than we might as well ban "black", "white", "olive", etc....

It's only stupid PC thinking if the Chiefs go down for it, but I wouldn't be surprised. Why the club is named the way it is and makes sense for those who know, but it doesn't help that they've adopted indigenous iconography to go along with the name.

Snyder would be savvy if he renamed the team to the warriors or something and either whitewash any association with racist representations of Indians or go out and associate the team with the military in some way.
