We used to do 2 QBs starting and six points for a passing TD. We still have 1 QB and 1 totally open flex, but we went down to 4 points passing, but the 1st round is still 60% QBs. But the thing is, it's a closed economy.. so if you want a decent QB, you need to take him early.

I've accepted that I'll be reaching on RBs. One of my leagues is a standard 12-team with no PPR and an extra WR/TE flex on top of the normal starting lineup. I pick 2nd.
My plan is to get Jamaal Charles at 2, then pick from either a QB who falls, (very unlikely) Chris Johnson, or one of the top WRs not named Calvin or AJ (because they'll be gone). If all of those players are gone, I'm not content with DeMarco Murray, Lamar Miller, David Wilson, or Darren McFadden, who would be suggested to me through the ADP rankings. I'm way higher on LeVeon Bell than any of those RBs. I might go Reggie Bush then Bell, and at least I'll have a very good flex RB. Starting WRs can be had in the 4-5 rounds depending on what kind of QBs are there when I pick again. TE... eh, chalk the position up to Owen Daniels in the late rounds I guess. It's not a sexy way to draft at all, and I doubt I can get a championship this way. I'm going to rely on picking sleepers late in the draft (like perhaps Colin Kaepernick) in order for it to sizzle |

I'm actually considering moving back from 4th to 7th for exactly that reason, SNR.
It's only a 3 pick difference, but it seems like I can get pretty much any RB2 I want at 18, but end up less-than-thrilled with my choices at 21. |

It's almost a better year to draft 12 of 12 than #1 overall.

That's where I'm drafting. Snake draft. 12 then 13.
Guys in my league jump on QB's pretty early so I'm sure I'll land 2 good RB's at my spot. I have high hopes for S-Jax this year in Atl. He could see the end zone quite a bit on that team. |

Drafting early has home run potential, though, I'll give it that. If a great player (like Jimmy Graham) falls to you in the 2nd round, you're set up like a champ far more than a team who drafts late.
The problem is you're just as likely to find yourself drafting at the turnaround with Brees and Rodgers gone, as well as Graham and all the proven rushers that make nice RB2s like Forte, Jackson, Ridley, and CJ. You gotta hope that AJ Green falls to you. If not, yeah... go with Bush, I guess? Julio Jones maybe. |
