Geno Smith Escorted off airplane by police for verbal altercation
Apparently he was upset with their seating policy. Can't you see Brady, Manning or Rodgers doing this?
http://deadspin.com/geno-smith-alleg...ops-1503821554 Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE] Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE] SEXPAND Jets quarterback Geno Smith was apparently escorted off a Virgin America flight at LAX today by police after what a witness called a "verbal altercation." The photo you see above was sent to us by a reader who witnessed the incident and says the shot came "moments before" Smith was escorted out of the airport by cops. Our tipster wasn't the only person who saw it: @JimmyTraina I don't have video, but I'm at LAX and just saw a Geno Smith fiasco yelling at Virgin America workers. Escorted by cops LOL — Mark Rue (@markyOso) January 17, 2014 We're working on getting more details, but it looks like Geno's weekend isn't off to a great start. Update (7:11 p.m.): Our tipster fills in some details: We were waiting for our flight at LAX to Vegas and were put on standby on Virgin American just like Geno. We were told to get seat assignment at 2:40. Apparently Geno was not on board with that. My friend walked over to discuss seat assignment and Geno was saying to airline ticket agents, "**** that, this is bullshit." "Why the **** do I have to wait until 2:40." He would not let it go. He continued to curse and be loud for about 5 minutes. Police were called. They talked for a few minutes and then 3 officers escorted him out of the terminal. I'm sorry. The, I know he was bad, but he's just a rookie, thing, doesn't fly. Not today where it seems if you're going to be an NFL QB, you show it immediately. College prepares these kids so much better than they did 10 or fifteen years ago. Geno is a mildly talented athletic QB. There are backups around the league that can do what he does.

I agree Geno will probably wash out most QBs do. Reid made the right decision to go with Alex. If Geno was playing Angry Birds during his interview with Andy there was no other choice.

Sorry. I skipped around. Just don't understand holding on to the Geno dream. I liked Geno, and I realized I was wrong half way through his last year at WV. The sulking, and poor play when pressured. Just kind of hit me, he's not special, he won't be a great QB, He's not worth the first pick. I let it go. And when he went to the Jets any lingering interest I had, vanished.

I wanted us to draft Geno at 1 and to sit him at least one full season and was fine that we traded for Alex Smith...I just thought we overpaid and could have gotten Smith for less than we paid. After his first year and the way he stepped up makes me think we got a bargain, hindsight being 50/50 and all.
I said over and over that I didn't think Geno was ready to start right away and would need to sit. I also think NY is about the worst place he could have went in terms of talent surrounding him and coaching support. Rex was dead set on playing Sanchez until he put him in a useless position and got him injured. That team was a circus and seemed like a lock to be drafting in the top five and they almost made the playoffs. |
